Those Stupid Mistakes...

So I'm finally getting back to this game after a lengthy absence. I've got to redo all my unlocks, because I've got a different phone and I forgot the password for my google account, with no way to get it back, apparently. So I'm doing my best to blitz them, or at least some of them. I've got RR1&2, Expert Contractor, and Hardcore Captain, and I was going after Rapid Rank 3. I managed to get enough rep to be able to get the promotions, but ran out of time and money. Could only get as far as rank 7.

Then, when I was looking at other awards to go after, I noticed that the unlock is for challenging difficulty. I'd been playing on demanding, because I hadn't read it properly, I guess.

I'm still facepalming

Please, tell me some of y'all have done something similarly daft

Yep... I think I actually got RR3 once before realizing it was on demanding

I am perfect. I've never made a mistake, and have been able to dominate the game from the moment I looked at it.

err .. except for that time where I thought Rapid Rank meant get your LEVEL up to 8 in a quick time. Man was I working hard to level quickly, all for naught.

err ... and that time where I went for the Excellent Patient award, thinking I had 10 HP left. I took 8 hits intentionally, and found myself dead because I hadn't healed 2HP I picked up earlier in my travels.

err .... and that time where I was going for Exemplar Contracts, carrying 6 fails and 49 successful. I had my last contract to do and thought to myself "My ship needs some sail and engine repairs ... I got time". Of course when I did do the repairs, my contract expired and I failed.

err ..... and the many times where I accidentally hit "salvage" (or formerly "Destroy" after attempting a capture contract. I miss that "destroy" button ... it said so much more than "Salvage"

errr ...... and that time where I did some alien hunting to achieve the "Alien Flagship" unlock, trying to destroy a 100 hull Xeno ... on Impossible difficulty. No. NO ... don't do it. Xenos are nasty. On Impossible, they have multiple pieces of nasty and numerous probes that you don't want to get intimate with. Xeno hunting on lower difficulties is highly recommended.
