Deck 7: Alpha Sector
Normal.
Held all 6 Tact Points at the cost of 6 Templars, many of them new recruits:
- a Hydra (Ragnar Longhair, veteran of 1 previous battle), lost at the central Tact Point while creating a screening flamewall for the central defenders and particularly covering a retreat for soldier Dalan Ortho, the famous defender and drinker who has stood beside Captain Fury throughout the entire campaign;
-a Soldier (Voveno, veteran of 8 previous battles, Lvl 13) who was the harshest felt loss, on Turn 11 to an oncoming Narvidian Warrior who managed to shoot across the flamewall that solid Adovar adeptly propagated. Voveno, with her headband, her wry grin, graveyard humour, and her plasma defense, will be sorely missed back in headquarters;
-a Scout [Ovidius), lost while drawing off fire from Soldier Sherman who singlehandedly killed 3 Narvidians with one shot and who delayed other Narvidians assault with a massive slowing concussive grenade--thanks to Oleander's sacrifice, soldier Sherman was able to, under heavy fire, retreat across the bridge to the central Tact Point;
-a Soldier (Nyxos), lost at the top left Tact Point, caught when a Narvidian came out of the flames and struck him as he was moving into a better location to fire.
-another Soldier (Demeos) who, before leaving this world, managed to slay 3 Narvidians with overwatch but he was ultimately unable to accompany Sherman on his retreat, which we attribute to his lack of training and experience;
-a Scout (Arnaud), lost at the central Tact point covering the veterans' bloody retreat; a retreat in which our heroic Captain Fury, bloody and stumbling forward into the fray to land the killing blow on Narvidian scum, was reduced to 4 HP from a Narvidian's blade when one raced around a dark corner and confronted our force.
-2 Sentry Turrets (Alpha Prime Zeta and Omichron Chi Phi, turret veterans of several engagements) set at the lower left Tact Point, after eliminating at least seven of the tiny crawling xeno;
-Scribe Nalan
