So since it's been never-ending BF lately I felt it was time to patrol the Quadrant once more.
Went with crazy level since it's been awhile. Shook of the rust early on, let me tell you it was a raggedy old start!
Finally pulled it together and have 200k of actual spendable money!
Won on a boarding too! Even on my custom ship with 8 hull and 4 armor and 27 crew. Not to mention I stupidly let them board me yet pulled it off.
Started to get big money offers to hit the fringe, which I tend to risk in my style of play, early on before I'm attached.
And then, oh yes, THAT rumor, and, by Shalun! Only a few AU to the Cliffs of Insanity!
I never care which Templar I get, but it freaking made my day to score:
A Hydra!

It is one of the most enjoyable parts of making games with so many views into the same world. It just keeps getting deeper.

Having a blast today, BF to ST, switching off so I don't get frustrated on Ironman.
My MO is starting to crank it up, at 76.39 he scored a ship I can't believe I've ignored before now, the:
Vega Skylift!
Hull:14
Armor: 8
Engines AND sails at 30
Crew: 47
Cargo:44
Guns: 22
Torps: 16
It took me a few years of circling the core to get my desired extras, but now she's kitted with:
Structural: Prow Superstructure
Combat: weapons cabinet
Interior: battleship troops
Propulsion: spy bank
Armament: Titan guns
She's made to muti task, with the sweet combo upgrades to buff bonuses on sails and engines. Her cargo lacks a bit, but using shorter missions or linking longer duration missions far away with fuel ships she does well.
Crew isn't ideal, yet I build for boarding, and have stocked the officers quarters with Military, Templar Hydra, and First mate remains for now, I'm too rusty and have seen my favorite line a few times:
"This is the Father's ship!"
My word, I love it everytime lol.
Eventually I'll give old salty a proper retirement party, spice laden, with all the entertainment he wants!
At that point, it'll be Bodyguard awhile, then Xeno killer eventually. Oh, I did have Spy officer until the Templar rumor showed up!
Other than that, Rychart absolutely hated me from jump, so I've gone with it. Got rank on DV and Cadar so I can war Rychart on the fringe or core with ease.
SS and Thulun I keep friendly, permitted and such. I'll try to bust there points up off collateral gains from wars I'm figuring on, plus the occasional seek and destroy or capture when the Quad is queit.
At 93.43 now, just over 400k spendable.

You found a Templar!? Wha-...For some reason I just can't find one! Never did like them, but their still an amazing asset against the Xeno......I blame Pang. Why? Always blame Pang:P

You found a Templar!? Wha-...For some reason I just can't find one! Never did like them, but their still an amazing asset against the Xeno......I blame Pang. Why? Always blame Pang:P There's a certain rumor that leads you to the Templar. I'll tell unless you like figuring these things out. Pang slings his wares for Rychart, does he not? Easy to see why blame falls where it should, those meddlesome pot stirrers. |
