The torpedoes carry their own space-time density deformation apparatus, which as we all know the speed of sound is depending on the medium it travels through. The space-time density (really quatum entangled compression of the eneries between point leaving and arrival of the torp to allow for hyperluminal relativistic speeds from the deformation of space-time) apparatus causally converts dark energy into an entangled 'material' where sound travels faster than light. Hence the torpedoes are BOTH hypersonic and hyperluminal and boy do they make a ruckus.

The probability of threading a needle based on a stars wobbability just sounds outright astronomical. Well a stars wobble is a known factor, so if you time it right or the ship's computer is good enough, you can time the torp shot to shoot right past the star as it wobbles. Just sayin'.

The wobble is very minor by comparison to the broad movement of the star systems, which is the same rough shape guide as a stretched out slinky - just way bigger obviously... usually pretty big gaps, but depends on how many star systems, their gravities and speed of motion etc.

I would love to be able to expand the tech tree. I always loved the tech tree used in the Space Empires series and have been playing Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion (if only I also knew how to make 3D models of ST ships .ooooh). I cannot lie, a Star Traders mod for SoaSE would be so badass. Back to tech trees, SEIV had something like 400+ techs. The end of which encroaches on Kardashev II scale of technology.
Yeah, you have a planet killer? That's cute. I have a Star killer that also creates a wormhole while essentially leaving your system to a very cold death without a home star.
