Seriously, how unlucky can you be?
Not two years in-game after not being able to purchase a better ship because of some bug, I have a string of corsairs run the train on my ship and its crew, breaking apart her hull and costing me all but my last few coppers to rebuild her.
We spent months filling contracts to make enough silver to keep her afloat, and every time we got her back in working order another corsair would come along and wreck us again.
We were on our way north from the Starfall Sea, trying to take care of a delivery in Dunbar, for some reason or another my marker was in the middle of the ocean looking like I had a damn contract. I search and come face to face with the Champion of Iniquity. The crew panics and it's all I can do to keep them from jumping ship. We flee, of course. And for some stupid reason I decide to search the damn square again. Don't ask me why.
Face to face with another damn Ice Demon. We run. I decide to search the god-forsaken square one more time, just in case, and we come right up against a Kraken.
We only had 2 Mast remaining, so my attempts to flee were for naught and in a single round of combat the beast sent us to the depths. So ends that foolish Pirate's life.
