Does choking ash improve spell accuracy as well as melee. Choking Ash reduces enemy defensive statistics, it does not increase accuracy. But, because it reduces both Dodge and Parry, it makes all ranged, spell and melee attacks more likely to hit.

One of the easiest to use curses in the game. Everyone benefits, in some way, from CA.

I totaly agree CT. I have often to take the other mage but just cant bring myself to do it. I feel choking ash allows me to use skill and ability points in other areas besides improving my hit accuracy.

You want to see Vincent at his absolute finest? Lightning Spear 10, all the way through without a point ANYWHERE else until you get it. Screw Ash (I love Ash, BTW) when you can just obliterate entire groups at once, three times a turn

Hmm I see your point E. I tend to build my teams to win by atrision. Good defense and accuarcy are parimount to me. Maybe i need to look at it differently after all a dead ratkin gets no hits.

Vincent Lightning Spear 10, eventually into utility like Flash Freeze or Charged Speed Vraes using 2h or Kincaid set up to deal maximum damage plus Flanking Unity for accuracy Tamilin for Deadly Intuition and Ranged Onslaught or Selen using Punishing Blades and Pinning Shot for armor and AP removal Fyona for 2H wreckage or Kyera for Ethereal Anguish plus Banishment. Set the whole group up to deal more damage than the enemy can handle and as long as you're OK with accuracy you should do fine

There are a lot of different ways to deal with it. You reduce them with Ash, so you fight half as many turns. You reduce their damage and accuracy so they hit you half as hard. Or you hit them so hard with Lightning Spear 10 that they don't even get to attack. Take your pick

Cannon Vincent is hands down the biggest dealer of damage in the game, so if you haven't tried him like that, you're missing out.

I 100% agree, the AoE Vincent build is really fun to play, especially if you gear him correctly. He's not maybe as flexible as Kj, but when it comes to "lets see big numbers and melt monsters all over the map" Vincent is a good pick.

Early game he is a big hitter. Episode 3+ Tamilin takes the cake for my group. 7 AE attacks with strickened mobs she can easily do 5000+ damage if the mobs clump. Before Immolation change I would have said Vincent is hands down my preferred caster slot, with the addition of staves that let you SP drain a net positive even with level 10 spells I now say Kjartan might eke out the top spot. It goes Kjartan early game (choking ash is cheaper than LS 10 and he has more mana to manage its cost), Vincent mid game (armor starts to go above CA max, LS 10 remains strong and Vincent gets utility with the curses), then it's back to Kjartan late episode 3+ with the massive cursing he can do and that huge crit increase.
