Every time I click View to check an Upgrade, the upgrades available at that Star Dock drop by one. This led to it telling me, at one point, that -8 upgrades were available, once I backed out of the upgrade menu into the Star Dock. At no point had I bought any upgrades.

Darth Cthoras Welcome to the forum! I am glad your other query about ship plans was answered This one sounds a little weird. What are the details of your device? What OS version, game version and phone/tablet model are you using? There are a fair number of us here who would be happy to test to see if we can replicate, and the Trese Brothers are always responsive, even though they are meant to be away enjoying the long weekend .....

LG G5 Android 6.0.1, playing Star Traders Elite RPG 5.10.3 from Google Play Store.
Thanks for the welcome, loving the game so far but in the time it took to get a response, I managed to build the ultimate ship and now there's no challenging foes left to kill =( Think I'll restart with a higher difficulty. Wish the game had like, a storyline (or if it does, I somehow missed it all).

Darth Cthoras - definitely once you hit a point where you feel immortal, up the difficulty Thanks for the bug report. Can you check your Android OS Settings > Developer Settings > and make sure you haven't checked anything like "Don't Keep Activities"?

Darth Cthoras - trying to reproduce it here ... how are you navigating between viewing the upgrade and back to the list? Exactly what are you tapping?

I tried both the in-game Back button at the top and my OS's back button at screen bottom/side. Both cause the issue. Right now I can't View an upgrade at all to check its price without wasting an available upgrade.

Darth Cthoras you should be able to select an upgrade to see its price. You will always be prompted before you actually commit to an install. Some upgrades cannot be replaced, other upgrades are able to be. When you go to upgrade it, you will see the appropriate dialog. So for clarity, you get: Star Dock --> Upgrade Craft --> Upgrade type (eg Structural). Assuming you already have a structural upgrade, you'll see "Structural Installed" then "Show Installed Upgrade". Select that (for this example). The one you have installed is marked with a Teal box. Other available ones will have an amber "View" box. Select one. You'll see a blurb on what the upgrade is. You'll also see a "Purchase" button. If it is greyed out, then your current upgrade is not replaceable. YOu're fine. IF you can click on "Purchase", you'll also see a price for the upgrade. Clicking on "Purchase" will give you a confirmation prompt: "Purchase the new upgrade? This cannot be undone" "No, Nevermind" or "Upgrade Ship". You can always opt out if you don't want to upgrade.

I specifically said I never purchased any upgrades and yet each View is causing that Star Dock's Available Upgrades to diminish by one. I have no upgrades, the Star Dock says -8 upgrades are available, and won't let me even click Upgrade Ship.

I was able to test on the LG G5 Android 6.0.1 with Star Traders Elite RPG from Google Play Store and unfortunately, I'm not seeing the bug you're reporting. I also asked the 10 people I know playing the game on the G5, and 3 of them responded that they're bug free in that regard. Are you running the standard over-the-air Android or a custom ROM? So we're on a search for something specific to your device that's causing ST RPG to lose data or reset the upgrade register offset every activity. The 'Developer Activities' question fallen asked is a great first step, but we can also look for malignant anti-virus, spyware, something that's hacking Google Play, etc. Any one of those could interfere with ST RPG. Unfortunately (fortunately?) Star Traders RPG Elite has absolute minimum permissions and doesn't even have the capabilities to defend itself from other, higher permission, programs. That's why we occasionally get to play detective on bugs like this! I will keep testing here and looking for a possible cause by combining Star Trader and OS options to see if I can recreate on the LG G5 default system image. I will also keep a close eye on Reviews and most importantly, my e-mail. Normally if we inject a bug we get about 100 e-mails a day until it is fixed!

Dunno then! I have antimalware on this phone, and as far as I know it's just standard Android - I picked up the phone brand new from T-Mobile the day of release. I haven't bothered rooting it or anything... Hm.
Oh. I just noticed, but each time I 'View' an Upgrade in the Dock, then back out without purchase, that specific upgrade becomes unavailable at that Dock- so it isn't merely showing the available ones decreasing, they actually -are- being removed entirely.
EDIT: Just tested on the free version, and while the NUMBER of available upgrades are going down, the upgrades I'm Viewing are NOT being removed from the ones being shown as available.
EDIT 2: Rebooted my phone, and now the Elite version is doing the same as the free version.
EDIT 3: Backed up my Captains and reinstalled Elite - now it's back to the decrease+remove. Software bugs are much fun -.-

Darth Cthoras - sorry that you're having this intermittent issue. An intermittent issue often points at causes outside of the app -- maybe issues with an aging SD card, this antimalware, or other services sometimes causing the issue, sometimes not. We will keep trying to reproduce here, but currently haven't had any luck on a stack of Android devices.

It's fine! Just means I gotta take a little care in the Dock. I haven't noticed the upgrades respawning after they vanish, but I might give it a try. Doing testing right now - shutting down non-essential services one by one and trying in between.

I managed to reproduce the bug. Although the upgrades don't vanish for me. Try it yourselves. Watch the amount of upgrades available. Go to Upgrade craft. Choose to view any one of the available upgrades, but don't buy it... Instead hit Back button. Then hit Back again so that you get to the Star dock. See what happens My parameters: Device: Visionbook 7Q GPS Android 4.4.2 Version of the game: 5.10.3 Elite No disturbing stuff really installed, no Antivirus, since android Antiviruses quite suck

Thanks for the feedback. We will try to figure out what is similar between your devices that might cause this isolated issue to appear. I assume poryg is still only able to test in the free version?
