Hmm. It's 937.10AE now, and I'm still successfully finding Aliens by patrolling dead planets. True, it's very rare (have to go through many full tanks of fuel before even one shows up), but it doesn't seem as bad as some people made it sound. In fact I found a Hive, and also ran into two hives in random map locations, but so far have not been able to catch up to them.
Anyway, I discovered that I've actually already earned both Hive awards; apparently successfully capturing one and scrapping it afterwards counts towards both awards. What I was missing is the award for destroying an Alien flagship with hull 100 or more. Where do I even begin looking for such a thing, other than just continue trawling dead planets and hoping a big Alien ship will show up eventually?

If you haven't seen one in almost 800 years, especially if you've been actively hunting, it might be helpful to start a new captain at a higher difficulty. To be frank, aliens with huge hulls are very rare. I have also found a hive today, level 1145 impossible to catch that one when I am lv 35 I would say

athios I'm on difficulty Hard. And actually, just today I finally ran into a Heela Alien when patrolling a dead planet. So that took care of the last award. It was probably around 990AE or something like that, perhaps even 1000AE (I took a screenshot of the battle screen victory, but didn't realize that it was the one screen without AE displayed on it). The frequency is very low, but non-zero. Given enough patience, I still run into various Aliens. (And by "enough patience" I mean like 15-20 full tanks of WF at 108 units per tank. It's a money-losing proposition, to be sure, 'cos at that frequency you'll never make back the cost of WF to find the Alien in the first place, but I do have 11 million credits to my name and not much to do with it, so I consider it a mere expensive hobby. ) poryg Thus far I've only managed to catch up to one hive ship out of the 20+ or so that I've encountered randomly. I think I got really lucky then, I managed to defeat it without destroying the hull, which counts for the second award, and apparently scrapping it afterwards earns the first award too, so I've got both awards. Heela Aliens were my ticket to the Alien flagship award.
