So, I asked a similar question about the independents on Star Traders, so I'm wondering, are there any differences for playing as buccaneers or corsairs on Age of Pirates?

In AoP, Buccaneers and Corsairs are full Factions will all the features -- so they're very, very different than playing as a "no faction" in ST RPG.

Many of the Factions are incomplete, and their ports only exist on the unreleased/unfinished expansions to the map. Unfortunately, AoP wasn't particularly successful as a game and a lot of planned expansions to it had to be cancelled for financial reasons. |

Cory Trese Then Corsair isn't really a full faction with all features as you said here, no? Ports, Ranks, Pardons, and other benefits are all missing features. Or am I just blind and somehow missed where they were? Cory Trese It's okay, nothing to be sorry about. At least my confusion ( and possibly that of others) is now cleared up. Thanks 😀 Still loving it, though, however incomplete. You make some sweet games and I already bought most of them 😃😃

The only two I haven't bought are HoS and Battleforce. I don't plan on buying HoS anytime soon, but Battleforce is definitely going to be soon.

craft4 - at this point, we are not planning any major expansions to Age of Pirates.

We won't repeat these mistakes in ST2, however. Every port, every Faction will be fully supported.  |
