Thanks for the advice. But uh, I actually don't know how to make it bold... It's just like italics, but with a "b" instead of "i".

Alright, so I tried, and it made the whole post bold. How do I limit it to the title?

You start bold with a [ b ] and end with a [ / b ] .. there is a closing slash in there /. Remove all space.

If you use a browser on a computer/laptop, as opposed to a smartphone, you can bold text and do other formatting by hitting the Blue "Reply" button in the upper right corner of the "Quick Reply" box at the bottom of each page. This takes you to a GUI that works like a word processor, with buttons for Bold, Italics, etcetera. For writing posts that long, I highly recommend using that GUI. I also recomend previewing periodically to avoid loosing progress.
I hope my critcism didn't derail your story telling. It's probably more important to keep writing the story than to worry about my nit-picky critiques.

Well at the moment, my internet is down, and it's too damn hot to walk to the library, or, I'm lazy... or maybe both

I'm curious, what's with the karma/exalts? Also it's going to be awhile before my next story post, helping my step dad with installing a swamp cooler. Only have time for miscellaneous posts and such.

The Retaliation
We knew it was coming, but just because we had known didn't mean we were ready. But that's behind us now, the Xeno have left us for the most part, and we're recuperating. Our economy is back, but not high because we've regained a rather strong fleet. We're going west, where the Xeno weren't at, to see if we can expand there. Things are looking good. Our fleet is strong, morale has risen once more. We've stationed our fleet east, to defend from the Xeno if they attack. And now they're going to prove if they can.
Templar: "The Xeno were spotted. It's a small number, but there may be more. Do we engage?"
"Yes, send the fleet..."
Templar: "Affirmative"
I reach over and press the button to the speaker, "Battlestations, men! Prepare to engage the Xeno, if needed!"
Templar: "Sir, are we joining the battle?"
"No, it's for something else, you'll see later."
The Templar looked confused, which is natural. The advisor looked just as confused even. What I have prepared will shock them all...
The fleet had engaged the Xeno. The Templar, giving me the reports like usual, informed me of how well it went. They drove the Xeno back and sustained minimal casualties. We quickly regained the lost ships, and another attack happened. We drove them back again. Things went on like this, the Xeno would attack and we'd drive them out. We'd become confident again, and strong. Now we're upgrading the fleet... and we're preparing a massive offensive operation. I'm joining in myself, with my ship, the Durandal. We're going to wipe them out. We're going to win. I feel it.

We'd finished earlier than anticipated. I was also bored. So I got this part ready.
The Durandal is actually a custom ship I made on there, it's my strongest one, so I made it "my" ship. I upgrade it as time passes, and rebuild it, but I only ever have one at a time on this game...

The Attack
The fleet gathered just within our borders. As soon as the Durandal appeared, the fleet prepared for the attack.
"Remember... this may be a great victory for us. The time we pushed the Xeno back! Or this could be our last offensive... we may die, but do not fear death. It is for the people on these worlds. The people we're sworn to defend. Now, move out!"
The fleet then started moving toward the closest planet controlled by the Xeno. When we arrived, few Xeno were there. There were some, but the invasion ships prepared, and we formed a defensive position around them. It was too late to go back now, the attack has begun.
"Sir, minimal damage sustained, however, we're running out of fuel."
The ships were running out of fuel, fast. While the Xeno weren't in great numbers at first, they quickly gained. The fleet held it's own, for the most part, a few ships destroyed, and some heavily damaged. The economy is rising still, if ever so slowly.
"The invasion is complete, we destroyed the Xeno presence on the planet."
We'd successfully destroyed the Xeno presence on one world, but what about the others? Who knew how many there were? Can't think about that now...
We'd sent a colony ship to take the planet, defended it for awhile, before preparing for another assault. There were a few more Xeno worlds in this sector of the quadrant, we'd need to get rid of them all.
We then went toward the next planet, the Xeno were in higher numbers... in fact, there's almost a certainty there's more, we just can't see... we're outnumbered.
Despite all odds, we'd attacked... if we could simply defend the invasion ships, we could get rid of the Xeno presence, and get out of here. However, there's less Xeno than suspected. None came from the shadows... None ambushed them.
The Xeno were no longer on the planet... Then, on our way to the next planet... The Xeno appeared. The planet was surrounded by the filth. We stood strong and fought the Xeno, but took heavy casualties. The Xeno were wiped out in this sector. The threat was past, for now...
---
The explorer we sent out went dead. The signal was lost, probably destroyed by a stray Xeno. No... It was much worse.
The next explorer we sent to investigate... The discovery? Well, the Xeno are far from purged in this sector. Far from it. There's a whole cluster of them. These seem to be the last few worlds for this species, so we're planning a final offensive strike against the Xeno. One last offensive, to purge the filth from the sector, and the quadrant. One last chance, to save the Star Traders. Otherwise, the battles before this would be for naught.
