PC, Windows 8, Steam, v4.2.39
If you try to shoot/debuff an enemy in point blank, you get two simultaneous error messages displayed messily on top of each other. I believe it's "Target too close" and "Monster too close", or something like that. One of them needs to be removed.

Steps to reproduce: start a new game with a standard team (I played Nightmare, in case it matters), in the first combat try to use thief's aimed shot or wizards chocking ash in point-blank. I'm getting the overlapping "Target/monster too close" messages.

Thanks for the feedback. We will see if we can come up with a patch or explanation.

Hey guys, just got a similar issue when using Farsight behind a door with enemies. I was in warm caverns and the room I used Farsight on was the first tomb to the left. I'm getting "Danger detected" message but also some other message covered underneath this message at the same time.

Is there anything special about your Steam install or Windows 8 GPU drivers?

I don't think so. I'm playing from a laptop, and I do update drivers (or at least HP Assistant thinks he does). My Steam install is just a normal Steam install. The entire game has no other issues. Performance is great.
Oh, speaking of, there's is actually one other thing I've noticed. Was gonna report it too, but then my screenshot didn't work, so decided it's not a big deal. On some maps (west road, warm cave, pretty sure seen it earlier too), I am able to see at least some cobweb tiles in the black of an unexplored map. So the unexplored parts would be all black, except at some places I will be able to see white cobwebs (just cobwebs, no terrain or anything). And the cobwebs are real, once I walk to that place and explore the map, I can see that yes, there is a cobweb here. Sorry I couldn't make the screenshot work, hope it makes sense.

You are just click the talent, then clicking the target once? Are you double clicking? Using a non-standard mouse?

Click on the talent with mouse, then click on the target once with mouse. No double-clicking. Mouse is standard too. If you can't find any obvious reasons why this could be happening and want me to try certain different ways of reproducing the issue on my laptop (like using hotkeys or double-clicking or whatnot), let me know and I'll be happy to try it out.

Sorry, spent 30 minutes trying to reproduce this and looking over the code.
The only case that I can find in which you'd get duplicate message is if you get "Monsters Too Close" and "Target Too Close" -- these are caused by different factors, the first ("Monsters..") being that you are in a region that is trying to trigger a story event, but one that requires no monsters present. These are pretty rare throughout the game, and definitely not in either the first area of Red Hill or the Warm Cavern. The second ("Target...") is caused by your range to the enemy.

I'm trying it again, and there is no more overlap. At least for monsters/target messages. Maybe it has something to do either with the today's update or me reinstalling the game. But thanks for looking into it!

Did you update any input or GPU drivers?

But thanks for looking into it! Very likely, as I mentioned, it was caused by you standing on a story event area that required no monsters. The fix is most likely that you moved away from that area, or killed all the monsters and triggered the story event.
