[fixed] Steam PC Freezing Load Screen Win 7 64 bit edition?

After the recent update to V 4.2.43, I can not load the game as it freezes on the load screen.   Prior to the update, I played the game for three hours without issue.  I also deleted the previous installation and reinstalled and the problem is persisting. I am running Windows 7 64 bit edition.  Any ideas?
