When I found this exploit, I have felt that I have broken the challenge in it's entirety. So I have added the additional rule, my crew is not allowed to mutiny. But my crew morale can't decrease by normal means. As the ships aren't hostile, I don't lose morale by ignoring them or surrendering. I am safe from water-fuel morale drops. The accidents don't decrease Sails under 1, crew under 4. After that, the only way to kill crew is through getting shot in battle (with another captain I lost 6 hp from one torpedo, then the pirate wounded me as I surrendered, losing 7 hp in total) or by radiation storms that can be avoided by the pilot officers. After I gain stealth, omni stealth array and stealth stats, I will be beatable only by stealth build aliens.. So nearly immortal.

Then you will maybe like even more that now I have found out that you can make use of it even without ship designer and custom builds... I have pushed the intimidate skill as low as I could... And the results were that after I decreased the crew to 4, only 6 intimidate was enough to keep morale still! You can still lose a point of morale after you meet a ship and in consequence the crew gets to 5, but still, one morale point is easy to recover. In conclusion though, every military officer can easily make use of it. Just kill all crew... Darth Cthoras, we will need to tweak the challenge a bit, it's absolutely broken right now. What is more, we can't just forbid things, since we would kind of be forcing things

Hey poryg , if you get a military officer that will give an intimidate boost that should reduce the amount of Intimidate needed for travelling without WF (according to help file).

Sounds like this is a loophole in the game rules. It lets you fly across the galaxy with zero fuel and zero morale loss. That doesn't make any sense to me. Ice collection accidents cause zero crew to be lost, so basically this is a kind of virtual perpetual machine where your ship can travel perpetually with zero cost. Is Cory Trese aware of this loophole?

The best thing is, you fly completely unbothered. I bought omni stealth array, and due to extremely low signature, my encounter rate is extremely low... I hardly meet indy pirates at all. If I do, I can just ignore them anyway. But I still have bought an escape shuttle, because I don't want to take my chances in the extremely unlikely encounter with aliens. And my captain breaks records for the longest travel without landing on a planet, so far he is at 43 AE

Wow, that's ridiculous. So basically you can fly anywhere without ever landing, and you don't need any money because you don't need any fuel, so you can just go for a joy ride around the universe and don't care about anything else? Hilarious!

Probably gets really boring really quick. Even if I find exploits like this, I barely use them. It's more fun without them.

Of course, but it makes building captains easier, because you don't have to worry about being killed by pirates anymore. The fact that you begin with $0 on impossible difficulty doesn't necessarily affect you anymore as well (and actually, making money is easier. I made $120.000 just in 8 years.
