E1A1: time to complete 11.8 hrs 22 deaths
The shaman is dead!
Took a while to get into the swing of things, had a few fights (giant rats 😡😡😡) with avoidable deaths due to forgetting to buff and use potions.
First time using Fyona, purchased specially for this run and using a 2H hammer. All other characters standard. Vraes is packing a 1H spear + phalanx shield combo, CA KJ and Tamilin going for aimed shot and ToS evenly.
My last attempt at HoS was I believe over a year ago - thankfully under-deep beetles aren't as annoying as I remembered. Although Giant Rat spam makes up for that!

It's just so much more fun than I remember. I think it was finding Shauns RPG Reload for it that made me want to give it another shot.
Just goes to show the value of constant updates and improvements - it can't be easy but by the Nine are the results incredible!
Really looking forward to the progressing story, and the collossal amount of content still to get through ☺️

19.3 hours and beginning to clear the store rooms. ?Nice? to see some more advanced AI, especially for the ranged units. Also the return of the deathkin is really hurting - 43 deaths and climbing... As a side note, this may be the end of the timings as its a week tomorrow I restarted HoS and apple doesn't keep battery times for more than 7 days 😐 You're on target for over 100 hours of content though

bookworm21 - I think our best estimation of clocking is about 120 hours. But, the gameplay speed has taken a major boost since then, so we'd have to try to re-calc. I think you're still right, easily 100+, if you don't avoid any of the major story arcs.

On about 125 deaths having reached the TEMPLE OF THE ARACHNID (impending doom voice).
Having to camp after every fight is not ideal, but at least there's one nearby.
It appears that the forged spider has taken up the mantle of the giant rat - except these can be summoned as well 😡

At 125 deaths, camping each fight doesn't sound like such a bad idea. x.x May be you need a respec or two? 'cuz dying that much doesn't sound like a very viable tactic.

Yeah I'm looking to do something like that - most of the time it's forgetting to use potions. What it usually happens is I'll mess up and get stuck in a horrible fight that takes me ~5-10 attempts toile it through _that_one_specific_turn_ where, for example, a forged spider horde is chomping on Fyona and his last attack will always _just_ finish her off. Or KJ is exposed to just about anything. Speaking of, how do I make KJ less squishy? It seems like increasing CON is a bit of a waste in terms of bang for buck, and DEX seems to be wasted somewhat as I never attempt CQC with him (who would). Main talent is IMO 10 and I suppose CA 5 Vraes is a parry-machine with a ridiculous amount of melee defence die between PS 7 and SoC 7. Attack talents are FER 4 and SS1. Using 1 H Spear (33-57) and shield. Fyona II probably put in the line of fire more than I should, but she can usually take it. Uses a 2H hammer with RB ?5 and SoC 7. My reliable damage dealer along with KJ. Tamilin is lumped with a 16-60 2ap bow for terrible comsistency. Usually using AS/RO (5) or sometimes ToS 5. When she crits it can do anything from 8 to several hundred damage. Yeah, it's usually the forged spiders that are giving me trouble, as without crits it's hard to stop them in a single turn, and as they are mobile with 3AP if I'm in the open and people start missing... Any advice would be great, thanks

anrdaemonAlso camping is mainly for refilling KJ and V sp. V can usually get his back up with SP Drain, but since I changed his gear to include more armour/parry I tend to just camp instead. V has been respecced with moonstones, got about 18ish left, haven't bought the boostin/respec Iap but plan to anyway
