Ahh right, there was the problem then, I'd only have 8-9 ships, so couldn't pull the damaged ones back soon enough, derp... I guess I was caught unawares while trying to invade and all of a sudden had to build a fleet so that threw everything off.

Lol, yeah that should help. Until you get the heavy transport (late game) I tend to like using the mechanized crew. Couple of the crews early on that are easily researched.
If you don't swap them out they tend to take too much damage. You wait too long to repair them and it locks down the ships that are defending them as well, or waiting to build more like.yoube noticed. What is going to happen is the xeno will bring out better ships. Stay moving best you can. Don't feel afraid to send a few ships into deeper xeno space on seek and destroy missions.

Just wanted to comment on fighter design. For accuracy and soak purposes I always put 2ap heavy guns on my fighters, also boarding is awesome

Depends on the enemy as well... I would absolutely run a 2 AP gun against the Jyeeta, but maybe not against an enemy that isn't so crazy tanky.

Its Simple,designgate the frequently attack planets as Battle worlds,then fortify your Home worlds,and make them full of trade settlements and mines,while reinforcing your Battle worlds with ships and PDF,they will draw enemies from your Home worlds. And use the amount of cash to continually fund ships and make sure your Home worlds are untouched,and now you got your Own Eternal war.
