A seperated last Stand map mission that unlocks after beating the game with a seperated score ladder. Take your experienced team to its limits holding off a non stop xenon horde as long as possible (does not actually kill squad on ironman)
Let's say trying to buy time for a mass evacuation to a hive colony ship fleeing an unstoppable invasion horde

Yeah, this did seem to be one of the more glaring omissions given how much sense it would make for the setting.

I guess it might be somewhat difficult to make it a compelling game mode as there isn't a huge amount of in-mission progression. Not like something in the realm of Dawn of War II where you upgrade/level up/improve during the mission. It might not make so much sense for Battleforce without changing the entire dynamic of the game. Then again if it's a sort of "see how long you survive, die, retool with whatever benefits you gleaned from surviving how long you did previously and then do it again" affair, maybe... who knows. With a leaderboard, for the glory. Just seems like a standard feature when someone says "xeno".

In the end, the features included in Battleforce where determined by a careful series of pre-alpha tests for game modes.
We did of course build the obvious endless battle level but, when playing it and comparing it to other options we realized that it didn't work / wasn't as fun as other options.
Given the very small, fixed amount of funding we have, it is necessary for us to focus on the top 3 or so designs and we cannot try to implement the entire top 10.
