Help! My ships are afraid of the water!

Deep (ocean, dark blue) water that is. Started game as Sailor, with Schooner, Sector 1,1. 2nd Commission was at Sector 1,2. I sail South, get to the edge of Sector map, attempt to continue South and...I have come to hate my phone vibrating, signaling that I am going no further. Only thing more stubborn is getting my dog in the car when going to the vet! Restarted once I became familiar with rest of game. Sometimes I can cross Ocean water, sometimes I can't. Even got ahold of an "Ocean" something or other ship. Now after investing HOURS of gameplay, I am stuck in Sector 3,2 after completing Deap Sea Commission. I had no problem sailing directly West from Section 3,3. I have tried to exit in every direction. Rations are running low and the crew is starting to give me the stink eye! Sailing Rating is 10, Navigation 10,Inventory includes 6 Maps, Schooner Merchant Ship. Why am I stuck?! And what's the deal with crossing/sailing in Ocean waters?

I haven't played AoP but this sounds like a bug if it only happens some of the time - but do check the manual just in case (unless you have already )

Cory Trese or fallen will probably ask for your device, game version and OS version - if you could post that pre-emptively that should speed things up.

I will look into it. We received another report of this issue via e-mail, so it is impacting at least 2 players.

I don't have any idea why this would suddenly start happening, AOP has gone 200 days without any changes.

I will try to reproduce the issue on a standard device and see if I can figure it out.

Try tapping on the map, directly on the dark blue area and see if your ship will sail there.
