Still loving the game. I wanted to wait until there was an update before I posted a bug. I am getting regular black screens. It is not a force close or crash. If I know the page I'm on, I can actually still select buttons, just can not see them. I will get logcat. It can happen at other times I think, but I most often see it when I am visiting connectors. I am picky and cycle through the job list. This is not the only time it shows up, just the most often because of my actions.
After it happens, my entire device slows down. Other apps start visually misbehaving. I am forced to reboot. It happens about every 30 minutes of playing. Next time, I'll pay attention to exactly which screens are black and which are not.
My first reaction is that it is a layering issue.

Posted the last one during a reboot. Got Catlog, and it has already happened again. This time holding the home button does not bring up the task switching screen. My device will not load the app drawer now. I will have to reboot and wait for another time since I can't get into Catlog. I pressed menu and settings hoping to get to the application that way. I get my top status bar, and the rest of the screen is black. My background is black. I will change this to determine if I'm getting a black screen or just my background.

Went back to home screen. Held power button to reboot. Screen goes fuzzy, but the options menu did not show up. Pulling battery.

Can you tell me anything about your phone and the configuration of the device?
That will probably be central to any investigation that happens. I have not seen this issue in all my testing so it probably isn't a common one.

Sent an email with the logcat. Realized I did not identify the attachment with this issue. The attachment is 2011-11-15-10-30-03.txt sent at ~6 pm central time
Phone HTC EVO Android 2.3.3 kernel 2.6.37.4-cyanogenmod-01338-g0374804 shade@toxygene#1
What other configuration data would you like?

Got it. That's intersting I have the same build EVO only running the Stock Sprint image and I've run the automated tester script on it to play 50K+ turns at a time.
I'll see if I can replicate by installing cyanogenmod

I like cyanogenmod, but if the problem is only on their end I'll find another rom so I can keep playing your game!

in many cases cyanogenmod is cutting corners or doing things differently than the vast majority of stock devices.
I do not mind fixing issues that only occur on cyanogenmod it is just that they are hard to test for in many cases I cannot replicate easily. It might even be a setting in the ROM you have turned on that is causing the OS to run out of SurfaceView handles. Maybe there is a "limit drawing surfaces" or even a "reclaim surfaces faster" option in the OS somewhere I don't know but I'll find out.

I updated to CM 7.1 from CM 7.0. This appears to fix the issue.
