It would be nice if you are primarily an explorer and making good profits, to be able to purchase training at an appropriate starport to further your military skills for example

I don't think we're planning to add the ability to purchase training to ST RPG or ST2. My initial thought is that it can often be exploited, making all your money being an Explorer (and therefore, learning Explorer abilities) ... suddenly you learn to be an amazing warrior without fighting. Generally, prefer the match that completing the events, and successful repetitions lead you to be good at something. Yes, perhaps you could learn sword fighting over a few years on a world, but your crew and officers would desert and your Star Trader license limits you time and access to Faction worlds, barring that kind of activity I would imagine.

It's not really a problem. The more trash points you have in other skills, the worse your build is, because the only thing, that doesn't cause you to level up, is strength. That is how you beat aliens 380% your level Truth is, when you have nothing to do with the money , it would create more usability if you were to be able to buy training. Also, if I consider my builds for explorer and boarder, they aren't much different. Explorer: Strength, 30 Explorer, 30 tactics, Intimidate, stealth or pilot Warrior: Strength, warrior, tactics, intimidate, pilot So basically you can build an explorer boarder, if you sacrifice some points in warrior... You just have to make sure that the aliens won't kill you.

Cory Trese well, the strength counted into xp will definitely ruffle the board builds. If alien hunting gets too easy with guns, I will report that

Cory Trese well, the strength counted into xp will definitely ruffle the board builds. If alien hunting gets too easy with guns, I will report that And if I get enough consistent feedback from senior players on the Forum and over e-mail, I'll consider additional patches. The boards and our non-stop e-mail traffic are what drove this patch to be developed in the first place.
