I was originally a gunner, but I've been trying out boarding lately, and I've actually been liking that. So, I'll say, I'm a boarder primarily. Never made a torper.
We all know what Cadar are.
So what do you mostly do? Gunner, torper, boarder, Rammer? Mixtures? Non Combatant (merchants and such)?

Gunner, merchant. Or a mixture of Gunner/boarder. Depending on what I feel like doing

I am all of these, except for merchant and explorer. I don't like these peaceful classes.

Boarding has worked for me and I have been doing hybrid explorer/boarder characters which are fun to play if not always the most successful versus specializing in either.

"Normally" a gunner, but I experiment a lot with weird builds.

All of the above at the same time because I like to win.

Cory Trese How can we win in this game? It's sandbox... Achieve the goals you set for yourself and you win. LOL what an odd question!

I play boarder and merchant mostly. Sometimes a boarding merchant. Sometimes a boarded merchant Gunner if I'm a spy. I use enter too much Boarder if I'm a pirate, military officer. Gunner if I'm zealot. Rammer if I'm.... Yeah that's about it. Bounty Hunter? Right... Boarder/Gunner hybrid. Anyway, seriously, you CAN win, you just don't get any flashy effects like "CONGRATULATIONS! YOU BEAT THE GAME IN X AMOUNT OF HOURS" or something.

Nope, my flashy effects include (and are mostly limited to) keep on playing the game. Set more goals, or die and start over.

From the role playing aspect I like the boarding. Managing the appropriate? ship size, and cargo, and what not. Sometimes it's annoying to rebuild your dudes all the time (think failed explorations). When I grow tired of the crew intensive way of life, it's all about the torps. Total spectrum warfare. I maneuver my vessel for kicks while liberally applying the torp. Gunnery is sorta like mop water. You aren't cleaning the floor without it, but it needs chemicals for sanitation.

It's indispensable to most builds, but by itself not very inspiring. I think that's what I was trying to say.
