So I've been doing some testing with crew xeno suits and artifacts, and there are a couple of things that I've been noticing. First, crew xeno suits are not decreasing crew losses at all, at least not by half. And Artifacts aren't helping me inflict any more damage vs xenos with artifacts. Below are a few screenshots to demonstrate this. The first two are board vs gun results, and when you take into account level and enemy type differences, crew xeno suits are not lowering the crew losses at all vs xenos vs non xenos. The third was a board vs board result with 30 artifacts and 40 weapons, and a xeno vet. The damage I'm dealing to xenos (about 40-44) is literally identical to the damage i deal vs non xenos. So here's my question: What exactly do crew xeno suits and artifacts w/xeno vet do in boarding? What rolls do artifacts play that make it worth 2*weapons, where does it help and where does it not?

Wait, I thought artifacts increased the damage YOU take from Xeno? Was I mistaken?

Wait, I thought artifacts increased the damage YOU take from Xeno? Was I mistaken? It can. It depends on the specific Xeno AI. Artifacts also increase your attack power vs Xenos if you have a Xeno Vet officer. See the Aliens section in the help file for more details about how artifacts affect different AIs.

AFAIK, artifacts with Xeno vet are useless. Vet doesn't help with boarding.

I've got the results of about 100,000 turns in v6.
I'm not sure posting screenshots is going to overwhelm the facts of the data.
There are just so many rolls that could generate the same damage, so having the internal turn results is critical to making determinations about impact of upgrades.

Lol okay you got me, I don't have 100,000 screenshots unfortunetly. My point wasn't that they weren't doing anything, I just can't SEE them doing anything. The damage I deal during board vs board (40-44) and recieve during board vs gun (50% enemy lv) is consistant. I've taken out over 100 xenos and non xenos, and the damage doesn't seem to vary so much that the observations can be dismissed by pure coincidence. Of course Xeno Suits and Artifacts play an impact in boarding, but it's clear Artifacts w/ Vet don't deal as much damage as weapons in certain conditions, and crew suits don't reduce crew losses by half in certain conditions. So I was hoping you could maybe clarify where these things will help in boarding, and where they won't.
