I've been playing the game almost to the end and have enjoyed it thoroughly. I've liked the free travel allowed until the story forces you to leave Ember and venture down a very linear path. I'm at the point where you must travel back through Bone Pass (the map where you use the ember log to melt the ice) and guess what I did? I used the ember log on the Koda side while allying myself to the Braeys. Now I'm stuck with no alternative path to take.
I try to head into Koda territory but my characters stop me from entering due to my alliance with the Braeys. I try to head back to Ember/city of the dead but I'm stopped again by my characters saying it's too dangerous. I try to head in any other random direction and I'm stopped with the statement to stay on the current quest.
Now I'm frustrated. I could kill the hoards of dead if you'd let. I could work diplomacy with the Kodas if they were scripted to do so. There wouldn't happen to be a second ember log in my tiny bubble of Braey territory?

@xeer du - sorry to hear that you have a strange situation here. I am sure we can help, but we will need some more details.
Specifically -- how and where are you stopped? You mentioned 3 spots. It would be most helpful if you could report the name of the region (shown on the in-game menu) and one line of dialog the characters use for each. You said:
1. I try to head into Koda territory but my characters stop me from entering due to my alliance with the Braeys. 2. I try to head back to Ember/city of the dead but I'm stopped again by my characters saying it's too dangerous. 3. I try to head in any other random direction and I'm stopped with the statement to stay on the current quest.
I don't know where these points are, and without further details, I'd be guessing to try to help at all.

At the Undercity Foundations, western staircase: "We can't go back that way. We've got to get clear of the deadening feild."
At Ember battlefield, southern staircase(s): The dialogue isn't displaying now but it's some statement like "it would be suicide to face the undead army". I still can't access this exit even without the dialogue activating.
Ember battlefield, southeast exit: "Heading up this road will lead us into the hands of Baron Koda." This dialogue goes on for a few more boxes, still unable to progress.
At Walled Braeyshaulm, northwest exit: "There is no reason to head into the western underdeep. We cannot delay in our quest... Need to locate Ravenna, blah blah blah". The northeast exit of Braeyshaulm deadends at Golla Outlook. Other than the Bone Pass, the only other area I have access to is the Ironwood Ridge. I've fully explored everything.

Oh, forgot to mention the Braeys War Camp has a boat dock. I've checked out the tent and I have no options. There's one more region between Braeyshaulm and Gholla Outlook but no other exits from what I can tell.
Thanks for the help.

@xeer du - the specifics are very helpful. They help shed light on the fact that you aren't trapped in Bone Pass. Where are you trying to go?

I'm trying to go back to the Storm Bastion. I had previously accessed this region through Bone Pass by melting the ice on the Granthorn side. However, I can't access Granthorn currently because I'm alleys with that city's rivals in Braeyshaulm. I'm not necessarily trapped in one region, I am blocked by story mechanics. I know I could take a long path to Storm Bastion but I'm hindered by the details in my previous post.
Anyway, I'm not loosing sleep over this. The templar game looks pretty good. I'm about ready to give up on HoS. In the future, don't pigeon hole your players like this. That's not how a good RPG is supposed to work.

@xeer du - I am sorry that you'd give up on the game over a bug. I am just trying to gather enough information so that I can help. It is a bug, not how the game is intended to work.
However, I am not sure why you dont: 1) Go to the Ember Lake Camp 2) Go to the Dock, take the boat to the Koda camp 3) Go south to Brunehorn 4) Go to the Brunehorn dock, and then take the boat to Granthorn 5) Walk into Bone Pass from Granthorn
Is that the "long way around"? That is the intended path you should take, and exercises the fast travel options within the game.

Alright, I found what I was looking for.
What I did was I began checking every little tent and alter and store I had access to. Eventually, I found the commander at the Braeys war camp had a few words to say, of which was the permission to use the boat dock to travel to the Koda side of the lake. I had a beer with the Kodas and then went south to slaughter some Volpa. Now I'm in Brunehorn with a clear shot at either the Springtide alter or the Storm Bastion.
So, not quite a bug after all. Just me not being thorough. I will say, that locating Kea Braeys has been difficult, which is why I'm on my way to the Springtide alter or the Storm Bastion. Apparently, she's in Braeyshaulm and can help me on the current quest but she's not to be found. No matter, I like killing more enemies rather than talking to NPCs.
Sorry for the doubt. It happens, ya know. Like I said, I'm really enjoying the game. It reminds me a lot of old school Fallout or the many obscure titles from Spiderweb Software. I'm looking forward to any sequel y'all might produce. Cheers!

@xeer du - is there any chance you are playing on a rooted Android phone or on a desktop (PC, Mac, or Linux)? We've been trying to fix this occasional "Kea is missing" report for some time, but have been unable to reproduce it. If you could share your saved game, it would be worth its bits in gold.
We are planning a sequel, Legends Legends of Steel. I am glad you are enjoying the game and hope you'll leave a review. Don't miss out on trying Templar Battleforce, if you liked Fallout Tactics or XCom, ... try the demo!

I'm on an iPhone :/
And yes, I played the Templar demo. Looks great! I'll probably buy it after I finish HoS. Keep up the good work!
