For a long time, we've kept the Star Traders 2 pledge page open to take late pledges via PayPal. Thanks to the 66 additional backers who joined up! While we did not reach any additional stretch goals with the pledges (we were counting) we do have a bundle of Captains who will be in on the alpha. However, with the alpha approaching, we will be closing the page within the next few days. If you haven't pledged yet, consider this your last call! www.tresebrothers.com/kickstarter/paypal

How much for alpha access? however much $50 is in your local currency. It does also include 3 copies of the game, and some other stuff too. EDIT: the other stuff: You will also receive: Starter Pack Digital Reward + 3 Copies of the Game + Digital Soundtrack + Luck Boosters Digital Reward + Digital Artbook + Wallpapers + Forum Badge + Name in Credits. I am pretty sure that fallen also mentioned a backer-exclusive story thread based around Star's Edge, but I'd have to find the link.

bookworm21 - thanks for posting the answers! Zer0Winds - you can also check the original KickStarter page -- all the reward tiers are unchanged:

We've got to close up the pledge page soon.
We need a final count of Rewards and Alpha tester list finalized so we can move the project forward.

Thanks for the schedule and progress update Really excited by the amount of content that is planned for the alpha - interesting that you are going for more of a 'full system test' than previous alphas. Super pumped to see that proc gen is/will be in for contacts and quadrants. Also, having noticed that there are over 120 'components' but only 16 ship hulls, will the focus of ST2 be more about upgrading your ship(s), or are we likely to see many more hulls post-launch? EDIT: Thinking about it, the much greater customisation offered by the component system precludes to some extent the need to have loads of hull types. I do hope that there will be plenty of cosmetic differences to distinguish ships by launch though, to help battles and such from looking repetitive

Super pumped to see that proc gen is/will be in for contacts and quadrants. Also, having noticed that there are over 120 'components' but only 16 ship hulls, will the focus of ST2 be more about upgrading your ship(s) rather than buying your way up the ladder? bookworm21 - the alpha will start with some early limitations to help focus play on certain areas, but we are certainly going for a full-system test. In a proc-gen sandbox game, it is hard to find ways to cut back without cutting the game out at the knees. Both numbers (16 and 120) are small compared to Star Traders RPG. Those are starting places for the catalogs, and prime areas for rapid expansion once we get going. That said, ship design is going to be very different than ST RPG. Your ship hull defines some basic attributes, but exactly what it does, what weapons it carries, how many crew it can have, what scanner modules are installed -- these things will really drive the functionality of your ship. So, its a mix of both. You'll be buying up the ship ladder, but you'll be strategizing over component installs more, and figuring out how to slot them into your ship's deck plan.

Put me down for the Alpha:) This is the only game I've spent more than $30 on in a decade. I regret nothing.

I can't... I'm sad. I already bought something else, and can't buy anything that expensive for a little while now. Oh... damn you, Dragon Age... and other game I forgot the name of as I type this.

fallen - you should start a 'Star Traders 2' section on the forum now so I can start crashing the Wish List with requests.
