Some thing for ST2 When I am playing ST1, I wish I could limit the type of contracts offer that is offered to my character type For example, as merchant, limit contracts to message and passengers and spying and not see the others. Seem sort of bad to have to reject contract because it in the type of contract my character is doing at that time.
I would assume that it would be matrix that the user could select which one to see or not.

Not something that you'll have control over directly in ST2, but you will be able to avoid Contacts that give jobs you don't like.
If you build a character with an emphasis on starting Contacts, you'll have more control over the types of jobs you might be offered.
The Contacts (and the Palace, in ST RPG) don't exist to serve the Star Trading Captain, it is the other way around. The current environment, political and economic, determines what the Factions need done and you are offered the choice of doing said work -- take it if it fits within your goals.
PS: Sorry the game seems "sort of bad" to you, but that is the very best design out of many different options. We did our very best with the budget and constraints that we have/had. Thanks for the feedback and, as always, thanks for playing!!!

Realistically, rejecting contracts doesn't really affect much, other than your personal statistics and whether you can unlock the contract-based awards with that character.
Glad to hear that there will be at least some control in ST2.

The more contacts we have, the more likely SOMEONE will have a job to our liking

athios - yes, if you want merchant-type missions, then you'll want to work with merchant-type contacts.
