Hi All,
I just got into this game and purchased the elite version of it from google play store and so far I'm loving it.
I have a few questions that I hope maybe some of the veteran players can shrine some light: 1) What's the Red Gear that pops out by the market icon from time to time? I get it sometimes and sometimes I don't. I tried to find the difference between when it appears and doesn't, but so far I haven't seen any differences. I know when there's a blue gear icon, it means there's "mission" or "repair" etc. But don't have any ideas for the red gear icon. 2) Is there a better Q&A section that helps the new players to get basic answers? I have tried to read up the "Guide" on the main screen but it doesn't offer any explanation on "officers" "Stats like Hull, Keel, etc" and what do they do or mean in the game. I currently have 3 officers; First Mate Kezar Baltos - came with the ship, Eric Hawke - found him on some port, and Markos Greenmarket - some port. What do they do?
That's all I can think of right now, hopefully someone can answer some of the questions that I have.
Thanks!

cong - thanks for the post and welcome to the forum. The red gear you are describing I believe is a star that indicates that you might want to take action at the trader's market. This would usually be related to low ratios for the market, indicating that you should take on my more rations before sailing out of port. You might see the same at the shipyard, if you had significant ship damage, indicating that you might want to consider repairs. The help file for Age of Pirates is probably one of our least developed help files, unfortunately. You can see the help file in game, or online (http://www.tresebrothers.com/age-of-pirates/game-manual/) or post questions here.

Thanks for the update, however, I have tried to load the ration by a lot and it still pops up ever so often. Also, any feedback on the "officers"?

It is also possible that indicator shows up during Rumor-based discounts, indicating that there is something your Captain might want to consider buying.

I just purchased the Unlock to show my support for the game. It really reminds me the Mount and Blade games which I really enjoy the sandbox game play. Cory, can you tell me about the "officers" as well? Are there any benefits of having them? If so what are some of those benefits? Since I can't find any info on that anywhere. Thanks! And keep up making these types of games!

The officers give bonuses and such to your captain. As to WHAT bonuses each officer gives, on Age of Pirates, I don't know.

I've taken #AOP-3293 to type up that info into the help file!

About the trade halls, what happens when there are rumors of a trade ban? A specific town has a trade ban, say only Nairn or Matalobos. I can still access the trade halls but nothing new seems to pop up. Is there anything in particular that it does?

A Trade Bans suppresses the availability of certain goods. It is different than an "Exchange Closed" rumor, if I recall correctly.
