Love to see an update come out for star traders elite or maybe a purchasable update to allow the player to buy 1 independents planet as their own base Player would receive small income from star dock and market Upgradeable options such as officer clubs (ability to hire an officer from player owned base) Market (players own market to stock up and receive small income) Stars dock (make repairs/acquire new ships) So on and so forth ... maybe run with the idea and see where it leads

Cool idea, but I doubt the Trese Bros have the time/budget for major updates like that in ST.
I'm pretty sure their was something similar as a stretch goal for the ST2 Kickstarter. Unfortunately, that goal wasn't reached.

Orbital and planetary stations were indeed stretch goals that weren't reached. However, maybe one day they may be added, as hopefully the save game format will have been made with the possibility in mind.

I think it is quite unnecessary though. Gaining income is easy, the officers hunting is annoying, but otherwise fine..

ben - thanks for the post! As others mentioned, those were goals in the Star Traders 2 Kickstarter which we did not reach. Welcome to the forum!

The short answer is that we cannot add this to ST RPG at this point. The saved game just doesn't support it, and while we did try to find ways to do it a few years ago, that path is now closed.
We did see that it was a common, but not top priority, for our players. That is why we included it in the ST2 Kickstarter.
Like most of our goals, with a two person company and only 70 hours a week each, we have to make tough choices about what is, and what isn't, a priority. We do that by listening to our fans and watching the way people are playing, buying, rating and sharing the game.
If ST2 has a really phenomenal launch, we might have budget to expand the game to have some of the additional features.

10 working hours per day, I am starting to be a bit worried of you guys... I am already getting crazy with my 40 hours per week...

Honestly, when you're scraping out a living working for yourself in the US, 40 hours a week isn't anywhere near enough.
I actually feel a terrible shame if I turn in a timesheet with less than 50.
However ... 70 isn't that bad. When I worked in corporate America, 90 hours was an all too common occurrence.
I once billed 120 hours in a single week when I worked in Dayton ... stuff like 18 hour continuous phone conferences.
So at this point, 70 seems like a totally legit number to aim for. I'm probably warped.
I don't think it is a good idea ... or anything to celebrate. It is purely survival.
