A challenge from CdrPlatypus has me playing HoS and reporting it as I go. So here is a fun little version of the HoS story viewed through the eyes of a sheep following the main characters. I'll update as I go. Clever readers will find that I've hidden some actual game play tips in here. Have fun
The past few days had been baaad for me. I had been locked in a cell for no reason that I was aware of and not given any explanation. Lucky for me there was some nice tasty moss and a spring leaking through the walls so I had water and food. The other cells near me had some humans in them, two men and a lady. One guy had very little clothing while the other wore a white cloak with red stripe patterns. The lady was dressed in some nice leathers. She had very nice long dark hair. The white man was very loud in his attempts to get someones attention. The other two were mostly quiet. Perhaps they understood what was going on. I sure didn't, but then again, I'm a sheep. What do we know.
Well for starters, we sheep understand humans quite a bit. Why do you think we are so willing to follow you around. Some of you seem to be able to understand a few baas here and there, but for the most part, it seems to fall on deaf ears when ever we try talking to you. Don't get me wrong, I love people. It's great getting sheared when it's hot and you make some nice clothing from our wool. Let me tell how I came to fall in with a strange group of people and the journey they went on.
I heard some noise coming from down the hall and yet another person was being led to a cell by men with big sticks and such. Another lady dressed in blue robes with short hair. The white man began yelling something,
“I want to see the maagus!' he said.
“Why am I here?” the blue lady asked.
The rest of the conversation was hard to follow since everyone was talking too fast for me. The guys with the sticks left and everyone else got quiet for a moment. They began talking again and I could pick out a few words here and there. The blue lady was some sort of traveling healer, the white man a mage or some thing, the other lady I wasn't sure of, and the other man the kind that makes me nervous when they're drunk. The others seem to call him braays or some thing like that. Finally the long dark haired lady said something about maybe undoing the locks. They all became very excited. I think they were calling her Taami, whatever that means. A name I guess. With in a few minutes they were all out of their cells and talking quickly again. I got the feeling they were going to leave and realized this might be a chance for me too. I tried to get their attention,
“Baa baa baa, baaaa, babaa,” I yelled as they passed me.
It seemed I was going to be left alone when the blue lady turned and looked at me. Her eyes were bright and warm and kind looking. Perhaps there was hope for me. She said something and the others looked at her strangely. After a moment the Taami came and unlocked my door. I quickly nuzzled her and the blue lady both as thanks. They all then went to a big door and began talking again. It seemed they were worried that there might be someone on the other side. The Taami muttered something and glowed softly and a bright flash came from under the door. She then smiled and opened it. They quickly moved in and the Taami found a big box. She opened it and they all became excited as they pulled out big pointy sticks and round tables without legs that they put on their arms. They began to walk away and I went to look at the box. Inside was a small bag with several strange things I didn't recognize. I grabbed it in my mouth and started to take it towards the blue lady. I dropped it at her feet and baaed. She looked down and started to pick it up while the Taami was going towards another door. Suddenly it flew open and more of those ugly guys with pointy sticks came in. I realized there was going to be trouble and hid under the table nearby. I mean come on, I'm a sheep, not a battle ram. A large fight began.
The Braays beat the ugly guys with his pointy stick.
The Taami made her small pointy sticks fly through the air at them.
The blue lady hit them with a stick that had a large looking rock on one end.
The white man spoke some words I didn't know and fire flew from his hands and long stick he was holding.
