It does sound like ST4X. -300000 could be difficult to recover from, unless you're late in a game on a really large map.

nuerax - it does sound like that might be too late to save. The important thing would be to identify why it happened and then be able to avoid that in future games. Any idea why it happened? Politics, huge fleet, CP based economy?

Well,after leaving this futile game,I created a new save in another game,I learnt from my mistakes and now I have a thriving empire,although I still use the old one as a Ship Design Sandbox,due to maxed tech tree
