Minor tweak requests in the notification department.
"Experience Notification Minimum". Right now there are too many minor increments, and no way to disable the notification (or set an arbitrary one). The steps should be "4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, Off" This way you cater for the new games where it only takes 3 XP to go up a level, and you cater for the more established games where it takes a lot of XP per level. I'm finding with maximum "50", I can only upgrade 1 skill. Once you go beyond 50XP per skill point, it means you get notified even when you can't level up.
Other options for implementation include: * Let me know if I have enough XP for x number of skills points
Surveillance/Blockade notifications Would be really nice being able to disable those specific notification types. I've resorted to turning off all notifications if I plan on blockading a planet for any length of time. Being able to disable the blockade/surveillance notifications specifically would allow me to get wind of the more important warnings.

Oh definitely useful notification ... or a "this rumor has now expired" toast. However, I guess you don't get so many of those because you're in the middle of deep space and people aren't going to waste subspace bandwidth to relay rumors and gossip.

If u were blockading/surveilling a planet and had blockade/surveillance toasts off it would be very useful to know when the trade/spy war ended. However I don't think those toasts should be gotten rid of, they should be on the bottom of the bridge menu with the wf and morale status

However, I guess you don't get so many of those because you're in the middle of deep space and people aren't going to waste subspace bandwidth to relay rumors and gossip. Or, maybe include the deadline in the rumors itself. e.g. 1 "There are merchants exploiting the local populace of planet XXX. At the rate they're going, they should be done in AE 2134." e. g. 2 "I heard that there's a military surplus on planet XXX! Better get there soon though! With the amount of warriors flying there, I'll bet it would end in AE 102." Or some such.

I like the idea of political notifications showing an end of Trade War, Spy War etc toast, after all it would be all over the same news "channels" that inform you of these things regardless of where you are, when they start - although there are some that don't seem to make it to toasts, Trade embargoes are usually the ones that seem to delay at onset, and more than once I've either fallen into the trap of trading not realising a new Trade embargo happened because I didn't check, yet at the same time many times I've also checked and realised before trading that a trade embargo has suddenly occurred with the faction owning the planet I just landed at but there was no notification/toast saying it occurred either. (I can only assume if I had a Political Officer she'd have warned me upon entering the exchange) but point is I'm guessing not everything is toasted immediately, even at onset.
With regard to Rumours I tend to think you don't find out about them starting unless you look for them in a Palace or Spice Hall, or encounter them first hand, and the same should be true upon their endings... i.e. you may visit a spice hall or palace and the rumours that have expired are new expired rumours, like "supply shortage of x at planet y has ended." ? may require too much coding though. I especially think however the rumour system should remove a rumour from the screen when you are the one to hire an officer on a planet, thus ending the rumour first hand - seems to be one of the rumours that persist even when you end it yourself - shortage and surpluses for example don't have this problem, Just my thoughts.

I am sure that it sounds totally strange to non-programmers but ... the game doesn't know when things are going to end or even receive a notification that they have ended.
The game is impacted because the underlying equations might change due to source data shifts (as a result of the post-rumor data updates) but the game isn't aware of the actual reason in a way that allows it to alert the player.
The issue of ending a officer rumor is a good suggestion and has been added to the list.
