I've always wondered, is this how cutscenes supposed to look? I always feel something missing in there.

Well, it's just total black for me, except a few scenes (those in brayes lands, in storm bastion… prolly all… the rest is just total black).

It might be a device issue, we might just be reporting the same thing. Maybe watch some YouTubes of the game and see if those particular scenes are different? My suspicion is that you're not having a bug, and that you probably see the map behind the dialog at the same rate other players do. If necessary, we can dig into specific cut scenes are spend some time verifying your individual dialogs as rendering correctly, scene by scene.

Um, I should probably clarify that to "otherworldly cutscenes". I only noticed this specific one because something said on forums made me believe there should be some animation playing in background. Though, now that I'm thinking about it, there's probably one scene that was bugged for me. Riven Field, can't recall details, but there was a torch light on the edge of a total black scene. I'm grinding through the Tower of Ember ATM (thanks for that pillar trick, since I managed to kill both wraights at the same time, too…) but then I'll pull a new party and see if I can recall exact scene I got that glitch in.

Thanks for the feedback. We will keep extensively testing every release and gathering feedback and metrics from the game.
If we find any bugs, we'll definitely fix them. Sorry you're having so much confusion about it! Feel free to e-mail me at cory.trese@gmail.com if you need a refund because you don't think the game is running correctly on your device.
At this time, I believe that the cut scene system is working perfectly on all devices, but I don't have the exact same Android and OS version that you have so maybe there is an isolated glitch on your device's specific GPU/hardware/firmware/OpenGL implementation. It would be SUPER weird and incredibly rare for such a glitch to cause inter-render layering issues ... but anything is possible.
Do you see any other graphical issues outside of the game? Like parts of the Android OS going black or icons appearing behind backgrounds?

Um, I should probably clarify that to "otherworldly cutscenes". The cut-scene you posted is not in the Otherworldly Haven. Let me know if you find a specific cut-scene where you see a problem in the OWH. I checked the specific cut-scene you posted, that is as-expected. The screen fades to black, Evesse talks, and then the screen fades back in. Thanks!
