Every time I go to the list of available ships at any planet, the price is always (much) higher than what it says on the list of ships.. why is this? If it's a bug, I know for a fact that it has been in the game for at least a year now.
If it's not a bug, does it have to do with the difficutly level you're playing on? Right now I'm only playing on challenging so I don't see how that would blow up the price of ships as compared to what the list says.

Welcome to the forum!
It's actually not a bug. The listed price is the ship's base price. The actual price takes planet economy and player reputation into account.

This is just a compromise I had to make in ST RPG, but won't repeat in ST2.
The issue is that we use a very slow equation to calculate ship price. Since you can have 20+ ships in that menu (that menu was added after the equation was finished) the game can freeze on some phones if we try to calculate the price for every ship.
If we added the on-demand calculating hooks we'd eliminate some older versions of Android from the support list. So we made this compromise, sorry.

The only time when Steel songs are actually useful... You don't consider us destroying hundreds of enemy ships as "useful"? All the large amount of scrap we create increases the supply of parts for ship manufacturers, reducing the cost of new ships! Considering most of the ships we destroy is in Syndicate space, we're specifically reducing ship prices over Syndicate worlds, so Cadarians (for at least the Cadarians that buy and sell ships) should be grateful for how much we kill them

Thank you so much guys, everything now makes sense. The more I play this game the more I discover its depth in game mechanics!
