Hi, I don't know if this is a bug, or just devious programming. But the Leo Drop Zone became the first mission I had to abort and restart for something odd that kept occurring. Still on my first playthrough. When you have one engineer, it takes (at least) one capture attempt to revert a tact point to 'neutral', and then one more capture to align it on your side. Thing is, and this is the only time I've ever seen it - every time my engineer would revert the tac point to 'neutral', the xenos would somehow recapture it on their turn. Multiple times. It was impossible for a single engineer to fully capture it. I had to abort and have the team start with two engineers in order to capture it. And then, to add insult to injury, the bad guys wouldn't spawn fast enough for me to beat the time limit countdown combined with the kill requirement. I can live with that (none of my guys died) but could someone look into this? It was probably due to capturing the tac point so early (I think it was turn 3) but it feels wrong to in essence be punished for doing well. I wasn't able to do much with the tac point either, other than adding structure, so it didn't impact the tactics that much other than by reducing the rate of xeno spawn generation. Played at demanding difficulty. Specs: iOS, version 2.4.19 Respectfully yours, Dragonspear

That is purposeful. You must clear the area in order to take a Tact Point. If you are taking a Tact Point under xeno assault, they have a pretty good chance of taking it out from under you.

Xeno capture TP range is very similar to yours. You have to fight them off the TP before you attempt to take it.

It makes sense from a logical standpoint that you have to fight off the xeno before you can capture a TP, but ... I've been stealing TPs from under the xenos' feet for quite a while now. The trick is to level up your Engineer's Capture talent to at least level 6, where it drops from 3AP to 2AP, and has a high enough damage that it's possible to purge the TP and capture it in a single turn. So you end up with a templar TP with 5 HP on the next turn, which stands a chance of surviving the xenos' attempts to take it back. (You can even upgrade the TP to have higher HP once you've captured it, if you have enough SP to spare, so that it's an irreversible violent takeover. Or at least, it will survive past one more turn.)

I was responding to the OP's question, which is logged into bug reports. This wasn't a challenge of your particular strategies redartrats, just talking strictly about the OP's bug report.

Oh I know that... I was just commenting on how it does make sense, even though there are ways around it.

Thank you for the clarification! Chalk one up to devious programming. I didn't know that they could do that.
