Just finished Stratos Reactor Core after going through the research labs, meaning my squad was slowed down by the two turrets (in the second case by at least 3 turns). So instead of my usual speed runs, I decided to go for maximum xeno splattering. Had cappy max out Warrior's Wrath, and after purging the first xenoform deployed my paladin (which, sad to say, has been twiddling his thumbs and is rather rusty for the job, but he nevertheless did his part). The seven of us then slogged through the other 2 xenoforms, hacking and slashing our way forward with my hydra as rearguard torching everything that tried to follow. I even installed a flame cannon on the first TP (and the +15 HP upgrade) when I saw an army of xeno crowd around it like ants around a spilled bag of sugar, just so I can score a few more kills before the TP went down. (In retrospect I could've summoned my 2nd hydra to torch 'em all since by then I'd captured and held 2 more TPs and had a pretty high squad cap. But didn't want to risk a lone hydra getting trampled by the huge numbers of xeno.)
By the time I got to the last TP, the xenos have assembled a huge army inside waiting to overrun my squad. Well, cappy stacked Warrior's Wrath on Blade Weave and the paladin also charged into the midst, with the other templars following behind with ranged weapons, and we flattened the entire xeno army. Boy that was satisfying... Engineer was actually already ready to purge the xenoform 1 turn before the last, but I had him pistol a few xeno instead just so I have 1 more turn to bump up the kill count.
Result: 7 veterans, 27 turns, 116 kills (woohoo!) at 4.3/turn 6% bonus. 174 XP and 174 RP.
