Worth a shot, though I'm sure it will never happen
Also, I'm not knocking anything about the game WHATSOEVER, we all know this is my favorite title to date, so please keep that in mind!!
Regardless of the difficulty, AI seems to do some pretty self defeating things. I understand this is by design, to level the playing field in a way. The AI just becomes too predictable in a way after a while. By reading the field, you can predict the enemy movement/target/turn and plan accordingly
-Holding back troops instead of pressing the advantage, like they're waiting for backup that will never come
-Archers only firing at the front lines until the Storerooms
-Archers refusing to close range unless the path to the closest enemy is clear
-Archers not reading that they are too far away then just moving and not taking the shot
This isn't a fault of the game whatsoever, as it needs to do its own thing in terms of planning and trying to win the battles. I just wish there was a mode that made the AI super aggro. My idea of a vicious AI would do a few things differently, and yes, it isn't my game, but I can still ask.
-Never holding back troops unless *absolutely* necessary and tactically prudent (waiting for actual backup due to a double spawn or fellow enemies getting split off from the group)
-Archers always targeting the soft targets, melee advancing on the rear before swinging
-Cursing (at the start of the turn (casters get auto-priority, seeing that they would likely be in charge of whatever group they're leading) then the other troops attacking to make the best of the turn, instead of spawn order (or however it's determined)
-Enemy targets the lowest HP/most proportionally wounded PC first
-I'm sure people have more they could add, this is just what came to mind
My wish is for there to be a way to fight a perfect tactical AI who can read the battle and do every possible thing in its power to kill the most vulnerable party member as fast as possible. Every unfair tactic you ever programmed but took out because it was too OP or unbalanced-- I want to see, to fight it. I want a tactical challenge, not so much a leveled enemy that uses the same tactics but has higher stats, I guess.
Thanks as always for your consideration!
