I set the stats to the point where it shows the price I have to pay, even if it says it's too much. Then I hit either the in game back button or the system back button.

Unfortunate. I tested that on a bunch of different devices and received a consistent result. I have no idea what would be causing it, but I will do some more research and try to figure it out. Thanks for letting me know about the device issue  |

Regarding iOS will an old version of a game be playable when the new version is released or will we have to start a new game?
The reason I'm asking is I'm about to start a new game but am hesitant as I'm hoping the new version will drop soon.

On the Android versions, old captains are still playable when new updates are installed. I don't see why it would be different for iOS, so I'm pretty sure it would be safe for you to make a new captain now. |

markzThe Trese brothers are super-dooper-loop-de-dooper careful to avoid any chances of save file corruption, and as such the savegame format is set pretty much in stone very early in development. You will always be able to keep using your captains as the game is updated, with the only exception being Star Traders 2 because it's a different game
