Blame Apple and Android for Google becoming the monster it has.
Unless I'm mistaken before iTunes and the Android assault on the mobile market Google was just another latecomer to the Search engine market.

The Queen said it best, I'm ready to go to Amazon Corporate and plug my Kindle in there to get this update. Who wants to join me?! YES! We'll break into Amazon headquaters, flip over laserbeams guarding the solid-gold computer holding Trese Brother updates, plug in via prototype wristwatch tech and download the data, which will suspiciously have no firewalls to stop us. Then an alarm that apparently doesn't go off until we're done downloading data will go off; we'll run through the building dodging machinegun-and-rocket-toting Amazon employees (still wearing khakis and button-down shirts, of course) and sharks wih frickin' laserbeams will open fire from a giant aquarium wall in the lobby. Then someone (probably ntsheep ) will bash into the wall with a tank and we'll jump on the outside of the tank while flying through traffic (of course the tank has been fitted with the engine of a Porsche) and dodging police vehicles, roadstrips, ninjas with tank-piercing shirukin and mall cops on Segways (did I mention we STOLE the Porsche engine? Yeah.). Then the army and national guard get involved (erm, the tank isn't ours either) and we'll scream something like "FREE TRESE BROS' UPDATES!", make several exceedingly unlikely jumps into a helicopter driven by Captain Kitty, aka slayernz after setting our tank to cruise control (of course this tank has one??) so it keeps driving and makes a massive (but harmless) explosion to cover our tracks. Then we land in the middle of a desert with a secret base (which is somehow not far from headquaters, but will never be found) and upload the data so it magically appears on every device that has Trese Bro games wihout them even connecting to the internet. And then we'll have a group victory pose, roll the credits to an ancient rock and roll song with some extra badasss takes, have a dance party at the end for no particular reason and make book/tv/soundtrack/toy/badly-made videogame deals while planning for a bigger, crazier and sexier sequel with no logical storyline but EXPLOSIONS GALORE! And we will be rich. Which was the point, right? ... Right? |

Well that's why I want to see another large player up there, as google has gone in to too much monopoly Yeah but for game developers OUR size, leading the charge against Google is suicide. Insta-death, good-bye, good-night no more #gamedev for you! We learned this the hard way with Amazon. Amazon tried to take on Google and got absolutely, brutally, savagely stomped into the ground. Sadly, Trese Brothers thought they had a chance and we put a lot (a LOT!) of money into Amazon and we lost it all. If there was another market that challenges Google, I will stand back and wait 3 years to see if they survive. I certainly won't put any of my games on there until they weather the Google savage beat down for at LEAST three years, maybe more. I certainly know there are few good alternatives which has gained up to 10% of Googles monopolized territory and Google is nothing in Asia, so if I would make a game now I would put a lot of effort to get in Asian business. |

In America it's called a JRPG, so over there it would be a ARPG. All I can picture is a bunch of old men playing TB games on their flip phones.

For a EN_US only game, we do pretty well in Asian markets. To actually perform there, you need a publisher, translator and a pile of money to afford market entry.
If I was starting over and had unlimited base funding, I'd definitely put a big emphasis on the Asian market, in particular, Japan and Korea.

Kind of answered. Still not super clear tho lol. How about this. Is this most likely: a) it's probably not going to happen with Amazon, you're best off downloading the game on Google and starting over B) will probably happen at some point, just have patience but it could still be a while C) should be any day now!!
