Weirdest yet most successful game

Volk, Steel Song Clan, Merchant, Custom Ship (Similar to Neutiquam Erro)

I began my days as a merchant, trading, getting trade permits with all factions... When suddenly I felt the urge to explore, because of massive trade embargoes. I was in a bad area, Indy worlds weren't good for trading, especially with fuel costs. So I explore a little, HUGE success!

I keep exploring, selling to the Indy worlds, waiting for the embargoes to end, and I come across an alien... the bane of all my merchant Britain's l captains.

I tried to flee, fail, fight... win.

I get a lot of money, then make my way back to faction space since the embargoes lightened up. Find two more aliens. Same process. I now have a LOT of money...

Keep finding aliens, keep getting massive amounts of money. I get enough money eventually through alien hunting that it's over millions. I go to dock with the nearest faction world...

I get stopped by Cadar. Okay, I have a permit to my regret, and I acknowledge... or rather surrender.

I accidentally sold into an embargo. Massive rep penalty. I just forgot.

EXECUTION.

Yeah... that sucked.

The cruelty and lack of understanding of the Cadar. I'd of rather died by aliens than the CADAR Syndicate.

They saw a chance to legally take out a troublesome Star Trader and they took it. Your family's Star Trading license was reclaimed by Cadar and probably issued to a new Captain

You were convicted in Cadarian courts of crimes against the Faction as a Star Trader. They probably took your Star Trading license as part of the settlement, in which they also executed you.

If you had a license from a Faction, then Cadar paid a "Death Price" for your license transfer to compensate the Faction that lost a Star Trader. If you were from an Independent family, then your license was returned by your family was required to pay a "Death Price" or file a grievance.

We're working on making sure a lot of these answers are included in the Lore Book.

So, Steel Song got paid by Cadar because I died by execution to the Cadari Government, or am I understanding it wrong?
