Yay! New jobs! These jobs were necessary to provide things for non combat and non hacker type peoples, and that's good.
I really don't get any fealing that I'm doing an actual new job. I understand that they are using diff skills to succeed with but they need some more love I think.
Maybe a new cut screen like the combat one...we could call it social combat where you get a few choices to affect the outcome of the mission. This would make these new missions a lot more engaging IMO. A scene with a knight sitting at a table across from the person your negotiating with would work, and one where your knight is in someones face looking angry for the other.
A simple upgrade to the end text is definately needed...sorry but I need more than a simple "get out"...a "You drive a hard bargain chummer, now leave before I change my mind." Would be so much better, and "Whatever you say chummer, just don't hurt me!" Way better I think. We need a lil more flavor to be drawn in.
I am happy with the other jobs because in my mind everything that moves within them makes sense..capture/assassinate gets a fight,deliver/pickup package or deliver message gets a journey wich works for me.
I'm sure ya got more planned, but this is my constructive criticism for the current situation...Beta ;D

Yeah we're already working on it ...
I spent some time this evening creating 160 new contacts to populate the physical networking scene.
Once we convert all of the job events into encounter-like trees the negotiation and intimidation missions will stand out.
Today the skill check determines if the mission is successful or if combat is the result. In the end, this is the core mechanic but it will be wrapped in a more interactive shell.
Glad you were at least able to get some of the new contacts to work.

The first 2 guys looks cool- y'know, the type of guys you want watching your back in a bar-room brawl... er... not that I've been caught doing that... The last guy looks a bit out of place, though... Is he a Royal Guard from SOS? ;D

He's a corp. sniper. Disgraced or disgruntled, he now works the shadows of the sprawl for credits and crammers.

fallen I love em. 1st guy looks like a pro, knows when to take his job seriously. 2nd guy maybe a bit of a jerk but has a small air of confidence for his abilities. 3d guy looks like a disgraced paladin....been there and back again, but no happy memories. They are definatly showing a small amount of experience over the older guys. Looks like its gonna be hard to produce this kind of quality for a fully alive world,I do not envy that job. ;D

First guy looks like he'd be a gunslinger. Prefers to get in close to take a killing shot, but he could probably hold his own in a hand to hand brawl, better than some of those hyper-punks, I bet. Probably works as a bouncer?
The second guy certainly has an ex-military look about him. Regular grunt, so proficiency with all types of guns, some hand to hand training, but not enough to get by on. His broad experience with a range of weapons and minor training would probably land him a job as a head security or body guard.
Just my thoughts on them, that's all.

Thanks for the feedback. Glad everyone sees something interesting in them, and that they do have some sort of different visual personality (you didn't all says, "classic hardass," "classic jerk," "classic military").
@gravis - much like ST, I am getting myself psyched up for a big re-do of art within CK once I have tackled the facial study skills. The portrait art is some of the most "in-your-face" art in the game (it is your face!) so to me it feels as important as ships in ST.
EDIT: Sorry to hijack this thread about new jobs with art blather =P

please feel free to talk about art anywhere, fallen :-)
Thank you for all the great work. I am still trying to figure out how you do eyes. Your people have a very intense stare. (Well the ones not hiding behind sunglasses, or having replaced their eyes with hardware. :-) ). I am in no way in the same class as you at drawing, period, but I still think that by looking at what you are doing, I should be able to figure out something about why your eyes look so alive, and mine so 'dead fish'. So far, no luck, curse it all.
But it's pleasant trying.
