Looking good.
Very different from my own style of play.
You enjoying being an explorer? And an independent one at that. Do you get better prices on independent worlds? I don't think so, right?

I don't understand several things then. Why does this ship have such a huge hull? Unless you are a boarder, it's not that you really need it... And judging by your build, you are far from a boarder. You can decrease the hull size and enjoy the benefits of fast and quick ships instead. Also, you will decrease fuel consumption that way and it's less weight on your pilot. Why are your tactics so huge? For weapons pilot is more important than tactics, because the key is not only to hit, but also avoid being hit. This huge tactics are good for torpedo accuracy, but you need huge stealth or pilot to maintain range. And your intimidate is too low. Your crew will suffer great casualties during exploring.

Poryg here has a very good point. I love intimidate for almost any build. For later ships, the waterfuel savings are awesome. Which you need when you've had to fend off seven pirates, and yours sails are damaged, and you're 40 au from the nearest semi-friendly world. Not that that's ever happened... But just in case.

Tactics is high because it's related to the wisdom attribute and I was just trying to maximize everything I could related to the attribute. With the hull, I think I just overbuilt because I'm still figuring out what I'm doing.
I do tend to have a lot of casualties exploring, so I'll try upping my intimidate. TY

sheff I don't really care about fuel consumption. Although water-fuel wise I have to mention an interesting fact. With enough intimidate you can go without water-fuel without morale penalty. If you have 1.5x more intimidate than crew, if you run out of water-fuel, your crew morale is safe. That means that for example with 4 crew (the lowest crew you can ever have) and 6 intimidate you are free to roam through the galaxy with no need to stop to refuel even if you run out of water-fuel. But truth is, I didn't mention the intimidate due to Wf question at all. For an explorer three skills are important. Explorer - obviously. Helps with better loots from expeditions. I don't think it should be the main stat though, because there are limited resources you can get from an expedition. I usually stop around 30 and don't expand it further. Stealth - to avoid encounters, especially hostile ones. Intimidate - Keeps watch over your crew. The more intimidate you have, the more crew the captain can keep track of. This results in less casualties from hi-crew expeditions. Also, there is one attribute that is very important for Explorer... That is strength, which helps you as a captain survive a bad event unharmed (aliens harm you every time though). You don't need warrior, so you can leave it at 1... But you do need strength.

I did not know that. Although, now that you mention it, that does make sense. I have played almost exclusively MO, with the rare pirate thrown in. Intimidate is gold. Thanks poryg.
