I am wondering what the maximums are for these:
1 - Positive Reputation 2 - Negative Reputation 3 - Skill Levels 4 - Attribute Levels 5 - Onboard Ship's Officers

I'm not aware of limitations to any of them except for officers which is limited to 3. You can have thousands in positive or negative rep. And as long as you survive you can keep adding to skills/attributes. If I remember, there were once players who claimed to have captains in the 500's.

The officer limits are a key part of the balance in Star Traders RPG. Not something we can change.
Star Traders 2 includes variable numbers of officers, up to 6 per Captain.

Is cool about the officers. I certainly understand limitations. Speaking of ST2, is it possible to get into the alpha without having contributed to the kickstarter campaign?

Sorry, we've closed the door on late pledges for ST2 at this point. Subscribe to our mailing list (button in the header) to keep up to date on big developments like that.

fallen or Cory Trese , how many contacts may be located in the same zone or is there a limit? Also, are all contacts generated when a map is created or when a captain is introduced to or hears about a contact?

There is currently no hard limit to Contacts in a zone. They are hundreds created when the game is started. More can be added later as well.
