Building a captain, I really want up AND DOWN arrows for moving A B C D and E around. This would make 'how many X would I get if I picked this' a whole lot easier to determine.

We'll talk about putting the down arrow back in. It sounds like you really want a grid that shows all the options vs. all the priorities?

Right now I think I know what ship I want to buy. I want to slide the ship choice down, down down until I am finally overbudget, and then pull it up one. And possibly even lock it in that position. Good, I have that choice made, now to see what my alternatives are for the next choice.

I really like the idea of locking the starting choices. i.e. I know I want C for ships so lock it in place. Then allow me to adjust the others around the already locked choice/s. Also realize this is the very start of Alpha and we were told there was basically no documentation yet for anything, but something like profession needs some sort of explanation as to why giving it a starting value of say A is preferable to giving it an E value. What does the level really equate to in game terms. Also the skill/ability points seem a bit odd as they tell you there are minimum and maximum values but not sure you can get anywhere close to a max value with them at least with lower priorities and the skills don't exactly tell you how close to max you really are especially if you choose ones that you get as part of your profession. Finally at least for me the Personnel Skills doesn't display how many points you've spent on them in the assignment screen.

My response to this thread should be a place to start with the skills questions I think -- startradersrpg.proboards.com/thread/14531/skills-displaying-properlyPersonnel Skills is probably running off the edge of your device. Also included in a bug logged in the thread above. We've taken some notes on locking and down arrows and will see what works best on our end.

I took #ST2-3329 to add locking during character creation.
I took #ST2-3330 to add a "legend" the screen that brings up a grid of all the priorities vs. categories so you can see the ship budget options without having to move anything.
I took #ST2-3331 to display the full details for Profession Picks and Levels -- exactly what jobs do you get, what levels do you get from those jobs, and what skills do those job levels grant you.

Specific Job Levels, Officer Levels, and Crew levels are now displayed for next. Not in 1.0.25, but whatever comes after that.

Really? Can't wait. That .25 tease post in the Update about the wiki always raises my hope that it's every time I open the forums.

Yah, small/minor detail, it just feels like you want to drag the various options into place. The up arrow wasn't a priority nuisance, glad the next rev has a new FFN. 👍
