When I arrive at a new planet I would like some sort of a greeting screen, to focus my behaviour on what I need to do next, mission-wise. This outline is just an idea of what I would find fun. {text} is a button or a link with "text" on it
When you arrive in orbit around a planet, you get a greeting screen which you can, of course, dismiss.
You are now in orbit around <wherever you are>.
There are 3 settlements reported on this planet {hole-in-the-wall a} {hole-b} {hole-c} (pressing on these buttons gives you a description of each, and back gets you back to this screen) Here you can find out things like {hole-b} is under strict medical quarantine, and all landing is refused.
We have a mission objective to <do whatever we have to do> in the <spice hall, starport, main government building, wilderness, or wherever the objective is> at the settlement {hole-c}.
We have contacts on this planet.
{XXX}is willing/anxious to meet us in the main government building of {hole-c}. {YYY} is willing/anxious to meet us is in the stardocks of {hole-a}. (And perhaps {ZZZ} refuses to meet with us {because we have annoyed him recently} (details if you click the button) or {until we have finished the mission we have agreed to do for him} or {because he is sick with the plague that has hole-b quarantined}.
{Would you like to have a status report from your crew?}
Here the officers will speak up and tell you that will tell you about that the ship is damaged, the crew needs a doctor, morale is dreadful, the ship's coffers are nearly empty, and you are out of water fuel. so, business as usual. If you already know what is up, you can skip this.
What would you like to do?
Visit the orbital station (has Doctor, shipyard)
Land at hole-a (has Spice Hall, Merchant Exchange)
Land at hole-b(has Spice Hall, Merchant Exchange) UNDER QUARANTINE
Land at hole-c (has Merchant Exchange)
Visit XXX
Visit YYY
Leave orbit and travel to another planet or Hyperlink Gateway.
