A somewhat related question, is there any way to boost my mass so I can actually install a passenger cabin? Install Mass Dampener

Okay- I am at a very nice Clan Javat world with an Excellent (7) Starport. My rank is 0 (Civilian) I have rep of 63. I can see the Upgrade Components button. There are many, many, many components here: Mass 5000 Void engine, officer cabins, bridge, lots of weapons. Indeed I would like a different way to view them, rather than all in an unsorted heap like this. Sort them by categories. Not sure what the categories should be, yet, though 'munitions' seems to be a good one.
There are no passenger cabins or prison cells for sale here. Am I doing something wrong or are they just not available at this starport?

Select something you want to swap out and it shows you a list of similar components. A button called 'type' will toggle the list between stuff of the same category (probably direct upgrades) and all components of that size (passenger cabin should be here). If you've done all that then it probably isn't available at that starport, which seems odd as you'd think they'd be pretty ubiquitous.

No, giggle. Just a confusing interface. When I go to the store, I expect the merchants to show me a list of things they want to sell me, not the list of things I already have. Alas. that poor Javat Explorer got jumped by a Rychart Pirate. No way to bribe the stinker, either. Dropped into combat, which really isn't doable on Android yet, tried to retreat, got my hull destroyed.

Yeah, if you can use that interface as it exists today, you maybe think a bit too much like me. Our design process goes like this : Idea / Story Written Down : Excel file that simulates rules : Saved game format I can manually manipulate : Terrible UI that only Cory can use : Terrible UI improved enough Andrew can use : : Profit

I didn't think it was too bad. I've been able to upgrade weapons and swap Prison cells in with the current interface. Some new icons, a sort by type option, all of the bonuses listed, and it would work pretty well.

Well if you think for a moment that hot mess of a UI would ever be sufficient ... you'll be impressed with the real one

Officer Genious - not sure which ship you are flying. Every starting ship has a different set of components. You can replace other components with Mass Dampeners if you really need to do so, but I wonder what ship you are flying and what you are trying to install?

I've been looking around for this, and I can't find any that drops Mass any better than the default one you get. Did I miss something? You can have multiple mass dampners (also another type that reduces mass which I can't recall name of at moment) and they come in both small and medium sizes.
