Are the text fonts for game locked in at this point or is there a possibility of getting them changed?
I find the current font can be a bit difficult to read/distinguish certain letters, most noticeable is trying to distinguish between V and U, v and u, and j and i. Also have noticed when editing some crew names that while randomly generated names can have an apostrophe mark such as O'Brian you can't use them as a player.

We will be working on improving the fonts, and font rendering, throughout the alpha process.

What I don't like are ingame keyboards. (In general. Not yours in particular). Is this just for Android or do PC users get this too? For android I always like things better if I just pop out to whatever keyboard I have selected as my default. This would get around the 'names are restricted to the limited English character set' problem, so I could be Kapten Grävling från Göteborg instead of Captain Badger from Gothenburg. But only if unicode works in game as well. Does it? Or are we limited to ascii text fonts?

Or are we limited to ascii text fonts? i was going to post about this - your ingame keyboards look lovely but small buttons with lots of space between them make them quite hard to use. I had not considered the special character aspect of it though.

In game keyboards are a requirement for mobile games built with this engine at this time. At this time we're using ASCII bitmap fonts without unicode support in any part of the application. Sorry

I think if we change game engines, we will make sure that full Unicode and native keyboard support are requirements.

Is changing the game engine something you think you might want to do for ST2, or is this for future games only? We're like a year past that decision. A change of engines will be very expensive and isn't something we could do for ST2 without starting over.
