Playing on mobile, haven't really had that much of a problem because of the small screen, except pressing the X button on the mission and talent windows.
It's so darn small, that my big fingers constantly miss it. And it's worse on the mission window, because the map behind it doesn't stop, and if I miss it then it give an order to my ship to move to who knows where.

With the different platforms, for me the #1 issue with playability (1.0.17) is the mission screen. The only way to close is the X in the upper right, and is hit/miss to close the screen (and 50% chance I'll kill my navigation waypoint and send my ship to the 'upper right' of the playscreen.
I know you guys are on it tho. If looking for ideas, the Contacts screen uses an X in the upper right, but there is also a BACK button on the bottom, which I always use on mobile, due to the above issue. Maybe something similar might work for the Missions screen. [EDIT: there isn't an X on the contacts screen, was thinking of somewhere else, but I use a back button instead of the X.... but the point is the same. Maybe the level up screen? *scratches head* can't remember]
Just some thoughts.

We already fixed the thing that let you click around/through things and set navigation waypoints on accident. Coming in the next version.
The back button is a placeholder for something like "Continue" or "Mission Success!"
