athios - Captain counts, but uses the Officer Cabin provided by the ship's bridge. Officers have a golden wreathe around their Faction flag.

ChocoCrowbar the default sort is simply Captain -> Officers -> Crew, and each group is sorted by XP. That does lead toward "newest last." Added sorting for next release (Level, Name A-Z, Name Z-A, Job, Recruit Date).
