Is there a way to increase the number of reactor points available during combat? Pretty sure higher level Mechanics and E-Techs have talents that can get you some extra AP but not positive about that.

I'm assuming that it could be associated with engine size and that as bigger ships are released (like carriers) with beefier engines and ships systems the available reactor points will increase.

Yes, Reactor points are determined by your Engine, but at the moment the only RP available on any Engine is 8. More variety will be available a bit down the road. As xdesperado mentioned, Mechanics are you go to for raising RP for a short period (Engine Precision, Reactor Surge).

Engines also control the RP required to move / change range. So you could have a Ship with 8RP, but only took 2RP to move instead of 4.

No. We are working up to it. Right now we're not getting great feedback regarding combat, so we need to keep things simple. Remember the game's symmetrical, so if we put in those engines the AI can get them too.

Gun Bunny is a Railgun / Lance Fighter who stays at Range 3, shooting all 8 RP. IMO for ST2.
I thought long and hard about all known ST RPG strats and make up analogs for ST2.

No idea if its even feasible, but I have a strange urge to try regardless of how effective it is in battle

I gotta say, I'm enjoying the torp battles, even though I gotta run from most of my fights. But me and my level 3 and 5 girls are a force to be reckoned with.
