I landed on a Thulun world to sell some cargo, and was alerted that I would lose Rep. I sold some to see who it was that I would lose Rep to, and it was the Rychart. The problem is that the Rychart have a Trade Ban on the Alta Mesa, not the Rychart or my own Faction, the Moklumune.
EDIT: Sold some more Cargo, lost Rep with the Alta Mesa this time. Again, neither is politically involved with Thulun right now.

You mention "Im Devaltos" but that isn't related to the Trade Ban mechanism. Who owns the world where you are trading? |

Devaltos owns it. It seems to be only certain types of goods. Crystals seen to be banned, not sure what else. Is there a rumor or event that would cause rep loss for just crystals? I don't see any rumors listed in this quadrant.

I had previously bought the crystals and other goods from a Cadar world, but only those were banned from sale.
Also, a trade ban and an alliance between the same factions shouldn't coexist, correct?

Several of the trade ban types operate on the RESOURCE. Others operate on the Captain's Faction, others operate on the Exchange.
The Resource of the Trade Good you are selling is probably what's causing this confusion. Right now, reading this thread, I see no bugs yet.
I am working on improving the trade result warnings, of course, but that's part of the phase 1 plan.
