The buy 1/5/10 buttons are decent. Hopefully eventually can do a slider. That being said.. I do like doing easy batches of 10 of things. However, there's no listing of how much there is AT the exchange to buy. I can hit 'buy 10', and only get 1.... It's not a major problem, but does start to screw with even batches. Would be nice to know there's only 7, or 1, or 3, or whatever.. before I buy a 'batch' size. I might want to do a full 10 of something else of a similar letter-value

We are working toward adding a slider.
When we get to a slider, we'll see where we need to from there. I think that will answer your RFE, as the slider will stop sliding out when (1) your cargo hold is full (2) you can't afford it or (3) the Exchange can offer no more.

Hopefully the slider will allow us to buy larger quantities at the initial sale price. Rather annoying currently when a port might have more than 10 of something at A+ but every lot purchase made pushes that rating down and price up. Yes you say it's A+ but you only have 25 of the item and my purchase price goes up with every lot or even individual unit purchased?

No, the slider isn't going to change that mechanic. That price fluctuation is based on the economy type. We're working on balance in all things

No, the slider isn't going to change that mechanic. That price fluctuation is based on the economy type. We're working on balance in all things Problem as I see it now is that each purchase is currently processed as a separate event with the market getting a refresh and recalculation of its stocks and therefore the asking price. If you give me a slider that allows me to buy lots larger than 10 units at one time such a refresh can't occur until after the purchase is made unless you give it some way to calculate the available inventory and thus total purchase price on the fly. Reminds me of all the store coupons that say something is on sale for $1.99 then in small print say (first 4 only at this price) so you can't buy a case of the item for that price.

It simulates how a commodity market works. We'll probably be recalculating demand prices as the slider moves each +1 and -1 demand. That way you can explore different bids without making them. I think that will help the perception.
Thanks for putting more time into v1.0.19, hopefully you're seeing some of your feedback!

The only RL commodity market that I know of which charges a single buyer a higher price per unit if the buyer wants a large purchase than a small one is certain energy markets. And this is a politicised decision, made in response to extreme pressure from the Environmentalist Lobby who really want to discourage energy use. On the other hand, 'bulk quantity discount' is ubiquitous. I think if you are going to violate people's principle of least surprise like this, you had better document it pretty strongly up front or risk drowning in spurious bug reports on how the exchanges are broken.

xdesperado - as you move the slider, the total purchase price will change as you change each unit. Also an Price Per Unit (PPU) will be displayed, and it too may change as you move the slider around.

I understand how/why it recalculates between buying each 'batch'. But I've yet to see any example in the real world where the price would go UP per unit as you buy more. I agree with others, you'll see a rather endless list of bug reports on that. The only way I'd see the price go up is if you were buying them out completely from a complete overstock.

Let me clarify one thing. But I've yet to see any example in the real world where the price would go UP per unit as you buy more. IN A SINGLE BATCH
