In my latest game I've got about 15 contacts so far and am struggling to keep track of them. Would it be possible to add some extra filters to the contacts screen please?
I think it would be really useful to be able to filter by faction and type of contact, with a secondary sort by reputation. That way you can focus on a single type of contact and see which ones are going to help you the most, and which ones need some love and encouragement.

Would also make it easier to find which of a given contact is closer to your current location. Have a dozen+ contacts and know you've got 3-4 Ex-Explorers to give you missions but which is the nearest so you can pick up an Exo Scout sooner for example. |

YES THIS PLEASE!
The local/global is nice...
But as contacts build up, it would be REALLY nice to be able to sort by faction (so you can work out from a rep deficit), distance. Perhaps even type (hey, I'd rather have smuggler type missions than kill-order missions)

I took #3425 to add Sort and Filter capabilities to the contact list.
I generally expect Sort and Filter to be features we will add to every screen that is a list.

Local And some basic SORTING: 1. By Type Name (Prince, Smuggler, Weapons Dealer) 2. By Name (Calagan Faen, Tuemette, Zoolbab) 3. By Distance 4. By Rep 5. By Faction Stars will also be added (hopefully in this same release) to allow marking and filtering. Are there other specific filters / sorts you'd like? Was considering a filter grid by service type (Intel, Missions, Pardon, Rank, Permit ... but that is a LOT of filters  ) |

Regarding additional filters, service type isn't something I would use. Normally, I poke into the individual contacts, as I'd want to know their influence, etc... before deciding on whether they fit my needs. So I think the listed filters are great. |

I could see we'd end up with a huge list of filter options if we go all the way down to Selling Armor vs. Selling Weapons. But, its all about speed of finding what you want, I guess. The details screen of course will list these things. |

I would note that perhaps if the Contacts Services descriptions are a bit more specific (instead of "Special Gear"), perhaps this would be unnecessary, as a player can pick out all the Type Name that offers that. BUT, that kind of relies on the player to scan through each Type Name and see who is offering what (and sometimes the list of services are too long and therefore cut off, so you can't see what you are looking for).
It will also get more difficult as more and more Contact Types are added to the game. There are already 40 Contact Types. I would argue that the filter by Service Type is more useful than filter by Contact Type, since there are less Types of Service.
Maybe others can chime in...

I want a quick way to find someone from a given faction that offers missions or buys intel or sells trade permits or can get me more contacts.
Don't really care if they are a prince or the guy hanging out in front of the spaceburger joint.
